I noticed that the most valuable race in Europe today wasn't the Irish 1000 guineas but was the 3m6f grade 1 Grand Steeplechase of Paris for 330K pounds won by favourite (2.3to1) Docteur de Ballon ridden by Bertrand Lestrade and trained by Louisa Carberry who seems to have worked out that the prize money is good in France!
I know the fences aren't the same in France, but there's plenty of big money on offer and many of our UK/Ire NH horses start their career in France - yet ITV just don't touch French racing. It was on Sky though.

I can see why ITV don't touch it, they're catering towards more casual fans than people that'd actively use a forum, and even amoungst us 'hardcore fans' some of us don't watch a lot of the French stuff?

Along the same lines, flat racing in Australia or the Middle-East is worth a lot more than jump racing is in Europe but that doesn't determine how much I want to watch it.

Probably should be a thread for French jump racing though, as I know some people know their onions.

The difference is that many of our UK and Irish jumpers start their careers in France and they're in a similar time zone.
