Free Bets

Anyone Seen the William hill offer on the rugby and any ideas as to who to back for top try scorer?
 
Just had my mate’s Betway account restricted (essentially closed) after hammering every free bet offer going for 4 months (laying off qualifying stakes on betfair). Made around 1200 pounds of free bets for Cheltenham (600 each). The NFL offer I mentioned earlier in the this thread was particularly lucrative and apt that it landed one last time in the Super Bowl last night.

Exactly, Betway is one of those you only miss for the free bets (my mate agrees ... haha) so happy to have made as much hay as we did. Certainly made significantly more free bets with them than any other bookie, which I wasn’t expecting. Been free bet ‘farming’ for around 2 years now, my own accounts are still fine with 365, PP, Coral and WH, lost free bet offers with the others of which only Ladbrokes and Skybet I miss. It remains a great way for the newish antepost punter to get stuck in to the Festival whilst minimising their risk
 
I did the same with Betway for about 3 months managed to get about 400 quids worth of free bets out of them before they restricted me the bastards, hopefully I win a few quid of them with the ante post bets I did with the free bets and I have the last laugh!
 
I just asked this on the other thread. If the worst happens and The Festival is cancelled, what happens to all the free bets that we have all placed?

I think most would be voided and refunded as free bets as had that plenty of times before with non-runners (not antepost). That said I would fear for my 1200 with Betway, can imagine them doing anything they can to wrangle out of returning those

I really hope you get to use your Betway bets. Imagine though if all bookies had to refunded all free bets as free bets. How long would they give us to use them would be my next question?

Given Betway are an absolute joke (They once settled an any time goalscorer bet as a loser when the player had scored for me) I wouldn't hold out much hope. Having had some personal interactions with them I'd never use them even if it was wasn't for the fact that they don't want my five pound bets
 
Had PP free bet on Black Corton for the Ultima (NRNB) today @ 15/1 (boosted).

Any one know how the NRNB thing works for free bets? I guess you don't get your free bet back if a NR?

I think it depends bookie by bookie.
SkyBet DID refund Free Bets last year that were NRNB
Not sure about others
 
Confirming that Skybet are returning free bets used on non-runners after they went NRNB....surprisingly got one back on Master Dino
 
Been meaning to post for a while on the significant drop in free bets across the industry. I'm not sure they will ever reach last year's grand heights where you could pick them up with very little effort each week. I don't just mean the bet club offers but all the other ones like Coral's back a footy team to win and get a free 5 for every goal scored in the match (up to 3).

Looking at my records for last season I amassed a pretty amazing £3,490 in free bets for the Festival (split between 2 of us). This year I am on £750 (split between 2) and there is no chance I will get near last year's total, in part because I have lost a few offers on accounts (that I will replace) but more due to the significant reduction in free bets across the industry. I think they found out they were losing more than they realised and took evasive action.

I understand those who have been antepost betting far longer than me when they say that the prices are not what they used to be but I do think you have to take into consideration free bets and cash out as part of the whole picture. My concern would be that after the free bet scale back cash out could be next (especially as only one real bookie that does it) fingers crossed that ain't anytime soon

Absolutely right, free bet farming isn't a long term prospect to make money and neither it's the cash out option.

Im riding the latter while I can but think it's important top
remember that fundamentally it's about backing horses that are too big a price.

Anything else is a bonus.

BOG is the biggest benefit for me week on week still, on average anyway
 
It's just the knock on effect from the restriction of FOBTs. Bookmakers are finding they can't afford to have all these promotions and loss leaders now that the pipe line of easy money has been stopped.
 
I'm hitting the wall on Restricted Accounts too, anyone with a betting pattern that isn't one they fancy gets restricted much quicker now too.
