Foxhunters 2019

He could pick up the ride on

Fennos storm
Hazel hill
Arctic skipper
Haymount
.......

They're all live chances.

Re Hazel Hill, it's very unlikely that Alex Edwards won't keep the ride. He has formed successful partnership with HH and was 3rd in race last year on Barrel of laughs.

Possible one of their regular jockeys will lose out to Codd
Would not be confident of that happening even though it did last year with burning ambition
Suppose it is a wait and see for Codd followers
Problem is as soon as he commits to something the price will half

Good from UC

Has to be fav now?

I reckon I'll like him if he wins it :p

Was good. Decent field too.
Uncomplicated ride and you know he'll stay every yard of the trip.

Still 6/1 - expected him a bit shorter

Why is Pacha du Polder 25-1 for this with skybet ?
I know it ran bad the other day
does it need to qualify ?

Ran like a drain yesterday.
He did the year before too tbf

He's qualified.

25/1 is a big enough price on a two time C&D festival winner

even if he is now too old and rubbish and got no legs

won't run if it's not right

Can not believe ucello conti is not fav for this, what else does he need to do apart from win.. for me again he is the winner, class horse, stays so will like the hill and seems in good form and about the right age & trainer is a massive plus.

I must be missing something. I thought UC jumped poorly and he wasn't up against class opposition. Salsify is 14 and wasn't far away. Also UC is 11 so doesn't fit the usual profile as 24 of last 28 winners have been less than 11. It will be a poor renewal if UC wins this.

You could also have said 27 of the last 34 .
And last years first seven home contained 3 11 yr olds and 2 12 yr olds.

Past four winners

Aged

12

Unless I am missing something the foxhunters has always been a poor renewal (race), thats why it has repeat winners and I believe UC is the class of this bunch.. but we'll see on the 16th March

Yes but past 4 winners were actually 2 horses Pacha Du Polder and On the Fringe (both repeat winners). As you say, we shall see soon enough. I'm happy enough with my main bets on Hazel Hill at 33s, Caid Du Berlais at 40s and SUAF in various doubles including Sir Erec at 10s and CDO at 50s.

So you think your 11yr old and 10yr old has a chance but not my 11yr old lol...

Plus I prefer not to split my stake three ways, one horse one winner/loser not 3 horses one winner or three losers..

Elliott later commented “Barry was very happy and he said it might have been better if he had let him stride on a little bit as he said he was breaking his stride and wasn't jumping as well as he can.

“We've done what we had to do and the plan now is to go straight for the Foxhunters.

“He's a good horse and he has good solid form.”

Fenno's Storm not going to Cheltenham.

Anybody else seen news on Fennos Storm other than Archie? I must be the only one that’s backed him!!
