Do not think I will pick one..

Example:

Min to beat Altior 9 out of 10 people said NO

Monalee to beat PP again 8 out of 10 people said NO

Wonderful Charm to beat Burning and again 9 out of 10 people said NO

You can start to see a patten that says Sirbetalot is black balled from this forum :)

I don't think anyone on this forum is 'blackballed', just a lot of opinions and it may be that you are correct in the arguments you put forward, and if so at least someone on here will have had a good festival financially ;)

I wouldn't take it personally, it's an open forum, but no one person is 'blackballed' on this forum :)

I love the idea but in terms of doing a Yankee myself, im R Kelly... My mind is telling me no but my body, my body's telling me yes

If you went back through past years in the forum there will be 'forum horses' who it seems the whole forum cannot see beat...and more often than not, they get beat. If I remember correctly the forum yankees (I was involved in choosing one of them last year) went pretty smoothly in terms of selections and agreement.... and they all bombed.

Regardless of who turns out to be correct, it's refreshing and a good thing to have contrasting opinions and views irrespective whether the majority agree. Makes for a far better debate and discussion than a thread/forum that is in complete agreement. Speaking for myself, as long as someone puts across a well constructed argument for a horse or backs up the opinion with reasoning, I'll certainly listen and take the points onboard. It might not change my view but it may and almost certainly will have raised or highlighted something I at least wasn't aware or thought of.

One thing I would say to anyone new - do not feel any pressure with this or let that put you off getting involved. It really is just a bit of fun.

You gotta love the FJ Fest Yankees.:)

I would love it even more this year, cos I haven't had the time to do any studying at all.

2 bad years - 3rd time lucky?

The world loves a tryer LR, we should be worshipped for trying again after the last couple of years, lol

Amen to that

It is just a bit of fun, certainly gave the bookies a laugh last two years

Decent price yankee for me would be

XC - Tiger Roll @ 9/1
Ryanair - Waiting Patiently @7/1
Arkle - Saint Calvados @6/1
Gold Cup - Road To Respect @ 10/1

The ante post Yankee is looking half decent at the moment. This might be the year that we get some money back from at least one of our FJ Yankees. :devilish:

Probably will be FM as I was in Australia when this one was decided so never got on it haha, unlike last year when I was on the lot and watched my money sail away :highly_amused::highly_amused:

I'm confident this year that the FJ Yankees will be profitable though :)

A positive omen is, touch wood of course, the ante post yankee is still looking like a good bet at this stage.....I'm not sure if that was the case this time last year! :triumphant:

It is just a bit of fun.... I will ALWAYS back whatever the selections are regardless of how I feel about them..... the only difference is that if I really like it I'll put my normal stake on :devilish:, if I don't... I'd just put a smaller stake on.... but nobody needs to know what you put on...as long as we all get on :)

Just a reminder that members need to volunteer, it's great that people have a view of who would be good owners but we need those to put their hands up (if they're prepared to)...

Sorry in advance if this is me being stupid but can you explain what you mean by owners? I am keen to be involved but perhaps I have missed something

I think he means owner of an individual daily yankee as in the person who makes the final decision on their specified daily yankee, but people need to come out and say they want to do them rather than being put forward by others. So if you fancy a go tell Ista.

Thank you COD. So the person in charge their specified daily yankee makes the final decision for the forum, not just their own individual opinion.

Ista, I would like to put my name in the hat so to speak.

Ista, just been through the thread, not sure if you had already made a note of those that have definitely volunteered (not me putting them forward) so far, but if not they are as follows:

robith
KingSprinterSacre
Middle_Of_March
Viking Flagship
charlie

And Folski was a half yes haha!
