Got talking to a long distance trucker (All over Europe) and the word is Latvia so I've doubled up with a little Irish priest to be next pope, I thought the current one looked a little pasty over Easter.

For those who can't be bothered to read the article (and why would you...) in short,m there is a 'sand artist' that performed during an entry for the Ukraine a few years back (circa 2011) and it was so good that the average song placed (top 4) at 100/1.


The exact same 'sand artist' is back and going to be assisting the Moldovan entry this year... so at 350/1 I will definitely be having a small interest.


You don't need lots of positives when something is 350/1 :highly_amused:
 
Any strong opinions on Norway?

I know nothing about Eurovision but I do like Norway for the St Leger and was thinking of placing a Norway / Norway each way double:triumphant:

No strong opinions at all yet to be fair, but they're 66/1 so you'd regret not having a minimum stake on it now....

I'm following your lead Kev. Done Moldova each way at 350/1 for starters.
 
Azerbijan currently 10/1, have very impressive staging, will be much shorter come the day

Worth reading.... will be loads more crap to filter through... should have posted ths when I started, looks like I forgot after putting 'more to follow' .... ah well.




I try not to watch any of the YouTube videos at all, and just watch the Semi Finals and back my 'judgement' based on them... got a pretty good record (which may well be more luck than judgement) but for anyone watching this year, don't even give a thought to anything at the head of the market this far out...

There will be something at 3 figures before the Semi finals start than goes off sub 16/1 (possibly single figures).... it is MENTAL.

Or Top Scandinavian (or however they're grouping them)

I thought about Denmark in that market at 25/1 but Sweden are always there or thereabouts.

Especially as the fav - Netherlands - is a song that will do well with the jury, but the staging is lame and won't do well in the televote imo
 
On the outright market, the 2nd fav Russia...

I absolutely LOVED this guys entry a couple of years back, was a joke it didn't win. Political voting.... but the song isn't as good this year, and if they didn't win with THUNDER AND LIGHTNING - IT'S GETTING EXCITING - they ain't winning with this.




but.... very early days and my opinions will change as I watch it a week today

It's gripped my group of mates, we all bet on it (obviously) and buy beer (or food where beer is impossible) for each entrant and get somewhere between tipsy and the abyss :very_drunk:

The Swedish winner was a banging though, and I always felt the chorus on Russia's faded out weirdly

The Sweidish winner was the year before wasn't it, Heroes?

The Russian entry the year after basically copied it - with the screen etc... looked good and was easily the best song in a piss weak year
