Doing A Naiad 2022

If everyone agreed with everything on here and we all were gentle and loving and sweet and nice and scanned every post for respectfulness every time then it would be the most boring place on earth and we'd have nothing to talk/moan/disagree/challenge. I like it that we are not all cloned and that there are all shapes and sizes on here. Long may that continue.

Bravo.
:applouse: I officially hand over my voice of reason title.
Who'd have thought that ??:highly_amused:

Can't be having this sensible take on random individuals coming together on a niche interest forum.

Up yours.

Oh well, an overbet 2.4m horse in Nassalam has been all the rage. When will people learn........

ALL OF THE WINNERS THIS CENTURY HAD RECORDED THEIR BEST RPR OVER AT LEAST 3 MILES

The last thing we want is some sort of sanitised, dry, can't say anything sort of forum, but 'when will people learn' is unnecessarily provocative language and I'm glad multiple people have pulled you up on it. We want a place that creates a valuable exchange of information. 'I can't have the horse because of the RPR 3m stat' is one of a hundred ways you could have phrased this to create a healthy discussion about the merit of this stat. Instead, you make a snide comment, offer up no alternative selection or proper counter and type in caps lock to make your point more emphatic - thats the value of your contribution. Spectre has put a ton of work into making a really detailed case for a horse and has given loads of reasons why he's a great bet - thats his contribution. Which do you think people find more valuable?

I don’t disagree Lobos, but personally I think respect is necessary, it might even be in the forum rules/guidelines.
Also worth having a quick look at the I’m Struggling Thread just to see how many members have had issues in the last couple of years, some may be sensitive to disrespect.
I think enough has been said about this, Spectre hasn’t taken offence so we can all move on, but I do believe everyone should consider how their posts could be read by others, unless of course you’re Quevega who has an uncanny ability to criticise and make us laugh all at the same time…

You are 100% correct IMO. It's a bit like not letting young children get away with poor behaviour. As soon as you let something little slip, the floodgates open and all bets are off. People need to own their behaviour and tone - plenty of people post punchy opinions, myself included. Using 'IMO', adding detail, a smiley face etc, are all easy things to do that allow for a positive, less definitive, accusatory space where we can have proper, meaningful discussions - which is why we are all here in the first place.

Out of interest which horses currently meet this stat?

All horse race records for all entants and rprs are available on the racing post website :encouragement:

I know was just being lazy and thought doctorwu might have a list ready

Haven't done a full list update yet, but I took all the horses that had either ran at Cheltenham this year or the Newbury race that Le Milos ran in, and compared with the key stats (Best RPR over 3 miles, younger than 9, OR 139-151). Of those I've only done those rated over 139 at the minute, but those that tick the box are Remastered, Threeunderthrufive and Corach Rambler. Happygolucky and Farinet also hit the crossbar with a best RPR over 2m7f.

Will probably repeat for all the entries over the weekend and see what hits the trends.

7/1 at Warwick this lad tomorrow. 2m 4f again though.

Lazy related double on the 2022 and 2023 Naiad's :excitement:

Now we're deeper than expected on the 2023 Naiad :afro:

Oscar elite fits also

Yeah, he wasn't rated 139 when I did the list so he's a bit further down :highly_amused: but yes he does need updating and will hit the trends when I get down to him.

As a matter of interest I was chatting to Joe Tizzard yesterday and he was saying he may supplement him for one of the novice graded chases, and he's not sure to run in the Ultima.

:highly_amused:
Like I said after the race the other day.
It would be typical of Tizzards to do something as dumb as that.
In this case I doubt they are that daft though.

I think he could be. I told him he was mad to even be considering it.
