Ground a big concern for sharjah.
Not a massively deep race though. But enough to make it a no bet race for me at current prices.

Totally agree scooby, wouldn't have a bet, but similar ground to Cheltenham, so Sharjah ew, still looks a better bet than GB for those wanting to get involved, like you though, money too hard to come by than to bet in something like this

Diamond Cauchois down to 4/1now, from 14's, Getaway John 3's, fair old punt on that first one

Diamond Cauchois is seeing steady money, 3.50 Fhouse, Gordon Elliot/Davy Russell, what can go wrong, 14>8, also Getaway John in the last, Elliot again

Will be very disappointed if Brace Yourself doesn't win the last. The stable is in good shape and I think only a poor ride can stop him. Unfortunately, he got one of those last time when he was ridden for speed - as is invariably the case with this rider - rather than stamina. He needs to be sent from the front and if that happens he should run these into the ground. Derby, looks a nice horse but probably wants better ground.

A couple have been punted in the 5.45, Elliot/Russell again with Out Sam, real stayer but top weight in this ground, would be some performance, but if anyone can do it this is the combo.
Also Rogue Angel, 20>12, currently for Meade/ Rachel Blackmore, only 4lb behind Out Sam, in my view Davy is worth 4lb on any horse at the mo

Seen plenty money has Brace yourself in the last hour, ground looks desperate, anything that goes in heavy is a huge plus

The money for Getabird was spot on, that was impressive

I would read that form with a huge dollop of salt. Given what happened at Cheltenham amazing that not one of the other jockeys thought they could do anything but give him a ridiculously easy lead. May as well have been a walkover.

True that you couldn't trust the form of that, one problem is that the jockeys in general can't change the way they ride, they still think they can come from behind and make up 10 lnths between the last 2 flights regardless of the going. You can't give away ground in bottomless conditions, having said that Getabird was visually impressive, when the others tried to get after him he cleared away on the bridle, won like a warm fav should, I didn't have a bean on him though

Another jockey issue on Diamond Cuchois, held up at the back, brought into the race right round the outside, so having to make up 10 or more lengths you travel an extra 10 by going wide, in atrocious conditions. They only need to look at the silks of the winners today, they're all clean because they are towards the head of affairs the whole race. Could still have made a profit from when posted last night, but there is an issue with some of these guys, top jocks too, they don't seem to learn.

Wolf of Windlesham looks to be getting support in the 5.0 at Lingers tomorrow, Stuart Edmunds stable know how to land a gamble.

Gran Geste has gone from 20's into 8's, JP McManus, several in the race but this is the biggest mover this evening. Also money for Speak Easy in the 3.10, McManus again but with Geraghty aboard, so decide for yourself what that's worth at the mo

M Usher/Ryan Tate, have Mette in the LF 2.10, then Bird for life in the 8.45 at Kempton, both seen early money, doesn't appear to be the same ownership.

The latter of the two Usher horses always looked the more interesting, went from 2/1, into a shade of odds on, then went in at 6/4. This was the price I first noticed it at, not massive, but a winner is a winner, 1.5 points profit, 1/2 a point if you backed both, to 1pt. I think there's definitely merit in this approach, but personally I'm not keen on all weather racing, tracks leave themselves too open to specialist horses and jockeys for me, can be exploited I know but so boring as a spectacle.

Keir Hardy has been backed at Chelmsford tonight, 6.45, George Scott/SDS, what I find interesting is that the hot fav for Godolphin has drifted in response. Have to be careful because this is only a 5 runner race so the thinking could be that it's an ew bet to nothing but the fav has been off the track a long time and the Scott horse is only having it's second start, so could be anything.

I think that 6.45 race suggests the lay side of a hot fav should be considered in those circumstances, talk about wise after the event:grumpy:

Hard to be that disciplined to do it every time though....

Do you do much laying?

Yeehaa, jumps are back, Norman the red has been supported, 9/1 now, opened at 20's, 4.15 Fontwell, bottom weight

Urban beat Navan 2.10 has seen plenty money, good combo this for J Murtagh/S Foley, they certainly know the time of day, still an ew price around 6/1, but was 16's

Carlisle tomoz, 2.20, Micky Hammond has Dakota Grey in there and it's seen some money, have to take notice of a gamble from this stable
