I don't think you can use CoC's prep last year as a bulletproof method or guide for winning this race. CoC is an incredibly unique horse... I think they're looking after Tiger Roll's mark.... He was going to beat Edwulf in the 4 miler, and that form looks good now.... Tiger Roll I imagine will be doing very little all season with a view to winning the Grand National... and a very able deputy should (heaven forbid) anything happen to CoC..... but no way is he Elliott's number one.

He might be his No.1 for the Grand National?

P.s. Can you sense the desperation in my arguement? :highly_amused:

If COC had a smooth prep this season til now then I’d agree with all of that, but they obviously had this race in mind for Tiger Roll given his profile this season. Maybe something has already happened to COC for them to let Tiger Roll take his chance in that CoC only just got his first run of the season in now? I have these two as just a class above anything else that will be going to post so happy to play them both to a similar level (though I do also have COC in a couple of multiples). I can’t find any quotes with regard to Tiger Roll this season which is annoying
 
Very pleased with COC like most at weekend. The bookies must be panicking now. I mean how long was it 9/1 for with 365? Then went to 7s for quite a while too.i am very happy indeed

Coc has been fine hes been schooling with sutton place after race meetings on 2 occasions.

Good to hear. I want both CoC and Tiger Roll going to post for this race in good order and I would feel confident I have the winner. I would still fancy Tiger Roll over CoC if that was the case (though both would be as good for me)... CoC has been to the well more often than Tiger Roll, is two years older, so there has to be a worry that all of those gruelling races might begin to take their toll at some point. If he runs up to the form of last year then I would say CoC should edge it, but who knows what he's got left in the tank and whether he will run to that level again

Not sure what to make of that. Nina is peerless in this discipline but Cantlow should be renamed Nipper and sponsored by HMV.
 
Loads of money for Hurricane Darwin today.... new to the code.... jumped the first few as if he's never seen them before haha

On a brief look,, the only winner to place at Cheltenham was Garde Champetre in 2011 who won on this day and came 2nd at the festival...

Good to see auvergnat have a clear round.i do think the 3m at punchestown suits him better than the 4 at chelt. However he's had another year to strengthen up plenty of experiance. And I'm sure enda does plenty of schooling on his own course at home. Will be interesting to see how he gets the trip this year

From a Cause of Causes point of view (because what else matters :p) I am happy with that result...

Nice to see Josies Orders back to form just beaten by Auvergnat today, but CoC holds JO through Bless the Wings (beat BTW 9L, JO when he came 2nd to Any Currency who was demoted, was only 1L ahead of BTW in 2016)

Bless The Wings also beat Josies Orders last time at Cheltenham

CoC had Auvergnat 11L behind in 4th at the festival last year....

Not conculsive obviously...but CoC does hold them both for me, and they're closely matched...
 
Still very keen on causes. Main danger tiger roll in my opinion.

Will do Scoob, already well involved and once the few favs have gone in on Tuesday and Samcro and Altior go in, no chance theyll go after getting CoC beat

Auvergnat has done plenty more than coc since then though. Whether that's to his advantage as a young horse coming through the ranks time will tell.

Well done, he may well win and I hope so for myself aswell. But this is the last race id want to go big on at current prices. Some unbelievable stuff has happened over the years.
 
A little gutted I thought I might be lucky and josies orders pushed out to an ew price after that. But wishful thinking it seems.

Needs to though... young and would need to improve incredibly far to reach the level that has been set.
