Cross Country 2021

I like the angle but do you think it goes off much shorter on the day? There’s also a possibility you’ll get 4-5 places as I can’t see too many more dropping out.

Bet365 is BOG and not sure this year we will get many extra places offered because of the very low fields. Possible may squeeze 4 places in this race but don’t believe the 50/1 will be around if 4 places offered. Could be totally way off though on this.:indecisiveness:

Defi Des Carras - from memory I think a few on here liked Some Neck, Defi was 2nd by a SHD in December over this course to some neck. So has form at Cheltenham, understand pulled up in last run, but if you forgive that run and he is a whopping 50/1 chance currently with WH (33/1 - Bet365). certainly worth a poke at them prices..

7 1/2 lengths behind Easyland in France back in October 19, moved to Charlie Mann in December 2020, sent to the Cheltenham xcounty in December for new yard and as said above only beaten by a SHD, 8 year old and would hope for more improvement to come.

I agree as well Bert, I do think Easyland can be beat in this race and with Tiger Roll off sorts, I think I will side E/W with this at big prices. :indecisiveness:

Should have won that race in December if the jockey had got the rail. Thought he was big for ages so nice to see another fan. You probably only want the place part really but his course form is an important an attribute as anything for this

Im also unsure which way the price will go, just wondering.

I like the angle of: Younger horse with potential improvement, has got close to easysland before, has shown good course form and apptitude for the fences and I believe he will like the drying ground that some won't, as he acted well on the G/S in the december X-country and although some of his form in france is on heavy they always say the french ground is a fair bit better than the going report.

But I wonder if he will drift because recently: PU in Plumpton chase which will put a lot of money off (rightly or wrongly) and because hes worse of at the weights with Some Neck and others he raced against the last day at cheltenham.

Like I say, I think the positives outweight the negatives especially at the price and given many in the field may have their best days firmly behind them.

Edit: FWIW i think there will be a firm offering at least an extra place on nearly every race at the festival over 8 runners.

I was one of those that were gutted with getting nutted the last day.
And his rating is probably not a true reflection of his chances.
But I also agree that he may be available at bigger on the exchange come the day.
But could be wrong. And 50's is still a big price anyway (just being greedy)
I haven't backed anything in this so far this year aside from Easysland as I think he's a certainty, and people crabbing him getting beat the last time are just ignoring how much that amount of weight is going to tell. especially when you're rating is about 10lb too high anyway.

The only one I've been considering today is Some Neck as on the last running and with a more prominent ride he would be interesting.

Yes I also think Easy is a BANKER:stupid:

And you're right struggle to see how if DDC is in your considerations how you cant like Some Neck.
Like you say, DDC could possibly be one of the rags on the exchanges for this race. get some silly 124/1 or something.

The 6/1 reverse forecast for Easysland and Tiger Roll is still available with Coral as one of their specials I put this up a week ago and I'm surprised it's not shorter after the entries today. If you don't have fancy prices on Easylands it could be a nice bet and unlikely to be available on the day.

I just think if he’s (Tiger Roll) not winning then he won’t be flogged for a runners up spot, the horse is a legend and will be looked after, could easily be pulled up as they come out onto the course proper.
Could also win though...

I agree with you but it's such a weak field and he could run over a stone less than his best and still finish 2nd. I thought it was worth sharing for anyone that doesn't like taking short prices and wanted an interest in the race. The straight forecast is unlikely to pay 6/1 on the day and you get it the other way round as well if the unthinkable happened! He's already a legend but it really would be something if he could go out with a win.

Was interested to see whos aboard Potters Corner and its Nick ShoeLfield. Is it just me who always thought it was Schoefield? Ive never seen the L before in his surname.

I feel like im suffering the Mandella Effect
