Predicted ratings for bottom weights in the festival handicaps from the BHA handicapping team: Martin Pipe 134, County Hurdle 133, Grand Annual 137/138, Pertemps 135, Kim Muir low 130s, Plate 137, Fred Winter 130, Coral Cup 135/136, Close Brothers 137 and Ultima 137.

Just guessing to be honest
Giginstown seem to like to send their best handicapped horse to the plate on Ryanair day.
Close bros not really a handicap and more unexposed horses
Think gun digger they’re best handicapped horse
Have it any race after you put it on hills I think
Just had 5pts each way 28-1 Ladbrokes
They only have him at 10s for close bros
Could be on wrong track on a number of points
But they is NRNB

I’m hoping it’s the plate myself, fancy Shady Operator in the Close Bros.

Will probably go back in again on Gun Digger in the any race market with Hills just to be safe. 22/1 still available!

Camelia de Cotte getting mark of 146,
Cannot see them running in a handicap now as she don't get the 7lb.
Effectively rated 153 which puts her right in the mix in the novice races.
If she's fit I reckon she goes JLT.
 
I know that Band Of Outlaws got a lump in the FW but otherwise not a bad day for Joseph? Tower Bridge in the Close Bros? Thermistocles in the Pertemps final? And perhaps they may rethink Kontikho for the Fred now?

Price don't reflect it's definite.
Mark will be tempting.
JP got other horses going for Bartlett
So we'll see.
NRNB B365 20-1 coral cup if you need to cover a bartlett bet and you like the horse.
 
Any thoughts on Flawless Escape mark? will he get in the Coral, or M.Pipe off 136??
 
I'm loaded up with Speaker Connolly. He's gonna slip in at the bottom with one of his entries.

156 is still 5lbs less than his chasing mark which is what he’s achieved in graded races which I take more seriously than Marks achieved in handicaps.

Could have been better, could have been worse. Whisper won the Coral off 153 a few years back so not impossible. Like you say still rated below his chase form so has a chance. Hes been lumping round 11-10 most of season against some very good horses and not been out of place. I would say he has the other top weighted horses covered on ratings/form. My only doubt would something lurking down the bottom of the handicap carrying a feather being well in. (no idea which horse yet as not looked).

By the way don't we have a Coral Cup thread? I couldn't find it.

Gordon told me (i asked the question on mic) that he will run in the Ryanair and not over hurdles due to the mark he got today. Full writeup in preview thread

He's either stupid, drunk or taking the p*** (and he isn't stupid).

This was flagged up as a plot on here months ago. Weeks ago, it was also flagged up as a flawed plot, on account of the UK handicapping rules being different from Ireland. I thought that he would get 150 to 155 and I daresay that they added a few on for cheek. He's won and been placed in G1 chases fercrissakes.
