Cheltenham Gold Cup 2020

Does anyone know whos the best price for Altior to do the KG and GC double please

Huge opportunity for Altior in this race. He’s effectively got LIT, Kemboy and Al Boum to beat

12/1 omg.

That's absolutely abysmal isn't it.

Vindication has impressed (4th in RSA) though doubts aboout ability left handed.
KILDISART was 4th in RSA and has a fantastic chance in the ladbroke trophy and may emmerge as a gold cup player.

1 or 2 2nd season chasers will emmerge as gold cup players its just that it wont neccassarily be the ones who were the best as novices.

They were in the JLT.

But sensible and well put from yourself.

Yes my bad JLT of course.

The problem with novices is the ones who are most physically developed early will do well at novice level. But when it gets to gold cup early development is no longer here or there
The tallest boy in the 1st year of high school is unlikely tp be the tallest boy in the final year of high school as the late developers catch up and pass the early developers.

Bet365 - 20/1. I've just had another point on this

Isn't he 20-1 to win the Gold cup alone with PP ??

20-1 to do both don't seem right Jono

Defi is still 350-1 for the same double.
Just need Hobbs to try the King George after winning a grade one over 2 miles (tingle creek)

Cheers Q. Good spot. Somehow I had thought Altior was best price 14/1 for the GC. Have cashed and put on the 20/1 for this instead

As somebody who is in a pretty big position with Santini from a very small stake very big odds Treble (from April last year) that performance was as lukewarm as I had begin to anticipate over the last month or so. Anyway with cash out no longer an option was pleasantly surprised to see money down at 11/1 on Betfair which i’m more than happy to lay at this stage, so roll up, roll up come and get your 11/1 on the machine ...haha

Thought this would be the most relevant thread for this. I’m hearing murmurs that Douvan could take a crack at the King George with a view to getting runs into him whilst he’s fit and healthy. He’s entered over 2m4 on Thursday and if he comes through that well it may become a serious consideration. Backed down from as high as 650.0 on BF into 27.0 as well. Could be be a GC player if fit and well?

Star quality

Clan Des Obeaux

I was thrilled with his comeback at Down Royal behind Road To Respect, when he jumped superbly. He’s made enormous improvement in the last 12 months, and being only seven is entitled to progress further. I certainly feel that’s the case after Down Royal because I know how much improvement he showed from his first run to his second last season. I came back from Ireland and backed him at 7-1 for the King George: to my mind last year’s winner is the one they’ve all got to beat on Boxing Day. Later in the season he’ll be entered for the Gold Cup again and we’ll take a view on that later on. He was bang there at the last in the spring but didn’t get home – as soon as the rain came on the morning of the race I suspected we might be in trouble. But with another year on his back and possibly on different ground, who knows?

Where is the 350/1 quevega?

Sadly. I think mr Hobbs has other ideas.
Even though the form of Defi looks increasingly better then the RSA boys.
Think he may stay 2 miles until cheltenham then go ryanair (or avoid Chacun in anycase)

but it's not 350-1 for nothing (no cash out on mine either) not sure why, but it was all cash. (was referred to trader so might be why)

A shocking price given you can back the double independently on 365 at 1325/1. Edit, just noticed you can’t place this as a double. Doh
