If you are making an annual event of it this year and usually use public transport, be aware the Stagecoach bus drivers are planning a strike whilst the Festival is on so getting from the station or from the town out to the racecourse will need a bit of forward planning. This includes Chelt, Glos, Stroud, Swindon, Oxford, Bristol.

It's quicker to walk, last time I was on one it was empty for the last half mile, traffic is a nightmare.

always good to walk to the course and choose which house you might buy when your 7 horse acca flys in! :biggrin-new:

A 7 horse acca might just about net you enough to rent one of those on Evasham Road for next festival :welcoming:, some monster houses on the walk up I have that chat every meet I'm there.

Still get people pissing in your garden and driveways all week though.

Can live with that for one week a year when you've grown up with it every week of the year :02.47-tranquillity:

I definitely prefer walking but they have made some big changes here to only allow buses and taxis up that road and close off the racecourse to town for all other traffic...should help a bit anyway

First time heading over, out of interest how long is the walk from Cheltenham train station?

Too long! Did it plenty of times when I was younger but not now. It's a good hour and a half.

Tend to wander over via a few stop offs, but did it in a rush two years ago as we were running late. It took 45 mins door to door with a decent stride on.

45 mins is right from memory Attaglance

Not a nice walk particularly, IMHO.

Which days you over....you owe me a beer I heard. :very_drunk:
