Cheltenham Festival Handicaps

No Crack Tiepy in the Martin Pipe, that one hurts, had in at least 3 multi's.

Pleased Velvet Maker is in a couple of them be interested on the day if he turns up. Run a ok race other week in Ireland.

Very pleased with his 3 entries. My guess is the Grand Annual. MP or County?? i doubt it.

Liam,
20s offered for Velvet Maker in the Grand Annual NRNB

Will get on the 20's as soon as I can. Tempted to have small ew bets in the races Velvet entered in.

Not sure why people are surprised with cause of causes. Trainer stated last week that the cross country is where he was going. sure to run a great race.

I'm not expecting much from him, I think this is a prep for the National and he didn't want the horse to have a tough race and as many know they don't go a full racing pace until they come out onto the course proper 2 out.
Cause of Causes is all stamina, hunting round for over 3 miles won't suit him at all, but it'll blow away the cobwebs and put him right for Aintree...

Based on Gaultstats. Shortlist for Ultima is like this

Kruzhlinin
Coologue
Rock The Kasbah
Champers On Ice
Henri Parry Morgan
and Singlefarmpayment

I'd be very interested in Singlefarmpayment for this at 16s, if this was his definite target...

Devastated that Hells Kitchen was yanked from the Close Handicap Novice Chase. Leaves my shortlist for this race now at just Blazer atm

Had backed him at 20s NRNB for the 4 miler. Reinvested that at 14s NRNB for the Ultima. He's a horse I want on my side wherever he turns up that week. I know that Tom George said he might go RSA rather than handicap but hoping he doesn't go that route.

16/1 NRNB Could look a big price come 14thMarch.

Absolutely, especially as it looks like the target with the National out of the picture!
I did take 16 NRNB a few weeks ago, a little surprised the price has held really.

Updated for winning ratings..

Without having to look through all the entries of the Kim Muir in depth, does anyone have any initial thoughts as to what Codd will ride?
Does he tend to just ride the horse with the best chance? Does he have a loyalty to any particular trainer in this? does he tend to ride horses that he has ridden before?
Trying to use the Codd angle to grab a decent price NRNB before Jocks are confirmed...

Doctor Harper could be a possiblity. He rode The Package in the Kim Muir a couple of years ago for the same connections.
