Cheltenham Bumper 2018

Have I missed something? Or are you referring to before on here.
No reason at all he wouldn't run to my knowledge.

Thought he had a setback a month ago and was a doubt to make the race.

He’s now on target to run though which is great

Anything about Hollowgraphic KSS?

Interesting race tomorrow. Stay Humble probably ran in a better race but visually no more impressive than Sometime Soon. Byrnes runs another newcomer related to several winners off the back of three recent winning gambles. Have to think this will take more winning.

Byrnes in the post talking about the gambles today does that make it more or less likely that he will bring a wheelbarrow of cash with him tomorrow?

Obviously, part of the planning was to find three relatively easy targets. You would suspect that this one will need to be better than the other three so my guess is no. That does not mean bookmakers won't be running scared so initially you might get a better price on the other two.

I'll be watching Stay Humble and my cash out options very closely tomorrow.

Ideal world is he bolts up and they say "well we have to think about Cheltenham after that"

I half expect him to get beat tomorrow as the next twist in the tale

Not an issue with nrnb but, while he's likely to go well tomorrow, for their normal pattern this would be a little close to Cheltenham. Could be one for Punchestown.

Yeah, I have a feeling a lot of the Wylie horses will be held back for Punchestown.

Yeah I showed the runners from this exact race a few days ago... made for pretty terrible reading to be honest in temrs of actual quality let alone Cheltenham prospects...

Wylie does like a runner in the bumper though. Augusta Kate, Shaneshill, Battleford (I think I've missed a winner for him too) have all ran well in it recently.

If Stay Humble preforms well tomorrow I can see him turning up. A big if though.

If Pym wins today he will be a qualifier on my bumper system, so ive backed him nrnb with 365 25/1, so thats two qualifiers advised on here Hollowgraphic 12/1 and Pym 25/1, there may be more selections ill back nearer the time.

Think I mentioned on here last year that i have a system i use for the bumper. The main aspect of the system looks at when the horse made his bumper debut, the theory being that if they made their debut before the Galway festival and connections resist the temptation of going over hurdles then they must think he or she has a very good chance of winning the Bumper at the festival. The system has been great over the years and incorporates a few other bits as well. Hollowgraphic will be a qualifier on the system and as such Ive added him at 12/1 2pt win and hopefully he gets to the Festival.

In years gone by there are usually 2-5 qualifiers, recent successes:
2017 Fayonagh 7/1 sp (debut May2016)
2015 Moon Racer 9/2 sp (debut April 2014)
2014 Silver Concorde 16/1 sp (debut Jan 2012)

There have been quite a few placed horses over the years at decent prices also, from the top of my head i think Yanworth was a qualifier at a big price.

Also just for info purposes Stay Humble who has quite a reputation at Willies is ready to run and should be out over xmas.

bump..........

The alternative would be the horse has had problems and it then becomes too late in the season to win a novice hurdle. That is what Henderson has said about Pym.

The most interesting runner iv seen this season in terms of timing is defi bleu tomorrow. Thats something I have never seen from giggingstown. Henderson could have done the same and sent pym for the dovecote and retained his novice status.
