Cheltenham Bumper 2018

Having watched the re runs I’m liking Good Boy Bobby for this. travelled well in both his races and found a bit when asked on debut. Even had to contend with a stumble in his latest victory but STD was motionless throughout.

Seems a knocking ew bet at 14s (nrnb) at this stage.

joint top timeform rating with a p next to him , not backed him but obvious chance Jon , good luck.

Also two he beat in his first outing have come out and won since.

Im surprised no one has mentioned Acey Milan for this. Slaughtered a decent field last time out. Ive had a nibble @33s.

I thought that was a bit of a funny race at Cheltenham myself doctor. Volcano was heavily backed and had easily beaten Acey Milan first time up on better ground, and appeared not to handle the conditions.

Which race would you take as the more solid of those two... would have to be the first one for me. So I think it was more a case of Acey Milan beating horses who didn't handle heavy ground... rather than improving so much, but obviously I could have that completely wrong so good luck!

One of my favourite races at festival , this year will be no different.

Had only one bet atm and that is Stay Humble 33/1 for Mullins/Wylie.

His profile from p2p is very good and at the prices speculative:):):) bet to follow for season.

Just a strange one, but the horse Stay Hunble beat in his PTP is running today at Hereford for Rebecca Curtis.

This has absolutely nothing to do with the Festival though (unless he wins by 20 lengths!) but always nice to refer to the first post sometimes!

As an aside, I quite fancy Rhinestone for this. The JOB camp seem to be quite confident.

Thats a fair point CCM, although trainer states that he's not soft ground dependant.

The cash out button is starting to look appealing on Stay Humble

Impressive start from Brewinupastorm on his first start under rules.

Looks a bit green for this at the moment. It will be interesting to see if they target Betfair Hurdle day bumper with him first.

Hi All

Newbie here so a quick hello,

Im very interested in Brave Prospect for this as I was so taken by its last run at Down Royal he is due out again soon so will be intrested to see if he can back it up before heading to Cheltenham.

Brace yourself????

After race at*Down Royal Tue, 26th Dec, 2017 (1st)**We bought him from Warren Ewing at the Sales in Cheltenham not that long ago. He recommended him very highly to us and he was right. We did one piece of work with him and Jonny Moore rode him and said he would be hard to beat wherever he goes. We were going to go to Leopardstown with him and then his owner decided he wasn't going to go racing today so we said we would bring him up here and his brother came. He'll go for another bumper. He won't run over hurdles this season, we'll keep him to next year. He'll have another run later on and we'll see how we get on. It's hard to know just where you are with that race because Jamie (Codd on Dorydalis) went a hell of a gallop and he just probably fell in a hole. Nina liked him anyway and he seemed to do it well. He's a racehorse anyway.**Noel Mead

From earlier this evening too

Decent listed bumper tomorrow at the Rasen.
I had a quick look earlier and couldn't find a single entry from the race in festival bumper betting but one or two of these could turn out to decent and there have probably only been 4/5 stronger bumpers that have taken place this side of the Irish Sea this season....

6 of those horses beaten by GBB have entries over the next few days namely Tossapenny, Kiwi Myth, Telson Barley. Equus Flight. Big Fred and Cul De Poule. Be interesting to see what if anything that tells us anymore. Could do with a couple of them romping home

It's never ran before so assume it was bought as a store horse

.
Lot 1159: "He is a gorgeous colt," reported Tom Maher of Willow Grange Stud of his Mahler colt out of the 4x wnr Cooksgrove Lady, sold for €31k. The mare's 1st foal Castlebawn West (Westerner) is now with Willie Mullins. "They say he's a cracker," added Maher.

That was said during a sale though to be fair.

Cheers - a mate knows a lad at the yard who’s getting the “he’s a cracker” line- guess we’ll find out on Saturday - cheers

Looks like Good Boy Bobby isn’t entered either. It’s starting to go wrong for me. :(
