Delighted to hear this for archie and all (genuine) ex Supreme owners.
I'm sure you were given no choice but accepting prize money is held by authorities, and I assume this extends to any UK prize money gained, is honorable and ensure chunks of a racehorses life isn't lost to admin.
Racing is the winner here....

Great news Archie, I hope all turns out well for all of the decent Supreme owners, and the scammers get a sh#£storm thrown at them.
 
When building a portfolio of your antepost bets, do you guys tend to back each selection EW or Win only? I’ve had decent luck on antepost markets in the past but this is my first season of having a few selections in each race. I’ve actually done them all EW so far

Every one would have varying opinions, it depends if you have cashout available. You could afford to back EW on every selection if you do. Without It, you've doubled your stake and the horse may not even run in the race.

For long term antepost bets, always win only. I would rather back two horses at decent odds in a race, rather than one each-way with the same cash.

When the NRNB option comes in and right up to start time, each-way is an option, particularly with a big-priced selection trying to beat a favourite that you respect.

....I’m not a ‘proper’ punter like most on here, but I tend to split my stake and put a small part on the place just to cover the outlay.

Forgive me if im wrong, but i think archie has the same method when he has the occasional bet of a win bet and a small EW to cover stake. I found it interesting when he mentioned it before, as it's a method that haddn't ever entered my mind.

Correct but, as you say, my early a/p activity is very occasional.

It only works for longer prices, say 16/1 or bigger, and the only time I used it last season was Delta Work at 16/1 (any race) the day before he made his seasonal debut. Something like a ratio of 2pts win and 1pt ew for that one but the ratio will vary with the price.

....that’s exactly what I do, a small e/w and a separate win only bet. Anything under 16-1 (although there won’t be many of those at this stage), I’d tend to do win only but put in an e/w double with a similar priced one.

It stuck with me at the time, as made sense in the fact that you just cant WIN every race, if you can get the occasional win and have good enough judgement to hit the cross bar, (therefore getting out of a losing race with your money back via a place) more often than not. You'd be a very successful punter.

I'd personally feel it would apply alot better to non handicap races.

So for a four point outlay that's
48pts paid as win, and 4pts the place (52 max 4place or 0)

versus 2pts ew
32pts paid as win, 8pts place (40 max 8 place or 0)
