Cheltenham 2020 - Ante post bets

I know hes old, but jeez i cant wait to see Faugheen again in general, but especially over a fence!! Please let it happen

The only bit of information that caught me a little by surprise was him saying Blue Sari looks a Stayer only 16s for the supreme but 25s for the Ballymore and not even priced up for the Bartlett.

Horrendous decision at 11 going on 12, just retire him before something terrible happens! He used to plough through some of his hurdles I would seriously fear for him over fences

Mention of Blackbow is interesting, he was one I liked the look of last year, tempted to boost him on WH for 22s, especially as the form in the bumper from 2018 has some merit too it when you look at Carefully Selected, Relelgate, Rhinestone, Felix Desjy having graded places at least since.

From what i've heard from Blake of the FFP he goes to Mullins with the list he wants to include!

Most disappointed with no mention for Saldier myself. If we know he is fit and well he's another no brainer at 20/1 for the CH.

Hes obviously still full of beans at home, and is lightly enough raced over the last few years.
Let him at it, can make a call on retirement down the line when it looks like if its for him or not.
Im sure hes well loved in that yard and his welfare is always considered in any plan.

...be interesting what happens with Cilaos Emery given its inexperience, yet unable to compete in the novice chase division. Mullins says it will stay at 2m for the time being. Perhaps Champion Chase if it progresses this season.

100% He was one i was considering as a bet in it. Obviously they think Chacun but this guy was mighty impressive in the small amount we saw him last year.

What’s left for him to achieve? Just looks a greedy cash grab to me, trying to rake in a few extra quid from soft novice chases. Let him enjoy his retirement in one piece, there’s nothing to gain from sending him over fences now

I wonder does Willie limit the number of horses Blake can give a report on, seems strange why so many obvious horses were omitted. Nicholls tour had well over twice as many horses covered.

I think the Racing Post had a lot more content in terms of numbers & info.

I seem to remember Blake saying it's a nightmare as he is limited on numbers, but i can't remember the context whether that was just with WPM or not. He got a lot from Nicholls but only 19 from Elliot. So he actually got more from WPM than Elliot.

Hard to work it all out!

Racing Post always manage to get a lot more. Speaking of which what did Fry have to say about King Roland in today’s anyone?

He appeared to $hit on my thinking that King Roland would be an AB horse :highly_amused:

Jackie.
Mister Coffey.
What was the upshot of the discussion you had the other day ?
Who is he with again ?

"After what he did in bumpers we have high hopes of him over hurdles. He'll probably start over 2m and work away from there, but another half mile isn't going to be a problem when he learns to settle – he was just a bit keen when he won at Ffos Las. A winning point-to-pointer for Tom Lacey, he's a natural jumper and he might start at Exeter on Haldon Gold Cup day (Nov 5). He's smart."

He's with Henderson but was originally purchased by Tom Lacey. I'm still not sure what role Tom Lacey played in the deal as he could have been just the agent in this case. I'd be more interested now he's with Hendo but I still think he'll lack experience this season.

Cheers,
He seems to like the authorized and fame and glory babies.
I think they both look like really promising NH sires to me.
I'm going to chance the 66-1 B365, whoever he's with.
Whittington Lacey or Henderson all decent trainers to different degrees.

Shame we'll only get a limited amount of Fame and Glory progeny as he looked like he could have been a good one. My current favs are Getaway and Yeats from the newer brigade.
