Cheltenham 2019 Ante-Post bets

Just the way betting goes these days, no point really moaning about it, time to move on and hope the open bets with them land, its not the first time and wont be the last this happens.

I went over to Willie’s in October and they were raving about him. We think he could be very good. Fifth on his only start over hurdles for Nicolas Devilder at Nantes in September last year, he has been given time to mature. He will be aimed at a maiden hurdle to start with.

Aparrently because he's used it on a horse who was injured and kept the money. .

Not to cash a live one and go on roulette.

Backed him 'any race' but any thoughts on his potential target? Given he has 2 entries at around 2 1/2 miles I'm going to say it won't be anything over 2m for the festival!

Willie recently emphasised that he's more concerned about running a horse first time out on the right day and track rather than the distance. Said it had no bearing on future targets.

Yeah, and something I have put up about Willie in some arguments for some of his horses, most notably, the 'better' ones, as I don't think it does matter an awful lot.

Knowing that he said that, and worse still agreeing with hmi, I'm not really sure why I questioned the trip for the festival as of yet, typically me talking tosh and not thinking about it beforehand ;):highly_amused:

Iv had a decent bet ew on him at 9/2. Just a hunch with it being a strange one he's jocked up on. She might step on a stone in the morning and he ends up on dento des obeaux

My thoughts too. Obviously have previous!

I know from Supreme they like Harrie quite a lot...but i've had a play on slybet at 11/2.

Surprised myself at the price of Bucks Billionaire, thought he'd be a fair bit bigger- he'd need 2m5 and hurdles to bring him on a lot IMO. Could do of course.

Is it just the Grand Annual that is impacted by the reduction in field size, or all handicap chases?
 
Just the Grand Annual in reality then as we'll never see a 20+ runner of the Arkle or QMCC again.
