One per race normally, maybe two if one is not running that great, mostly antipost bet and will have one in nearly every race, laid out around 85 points and have a few shorties at ok prices so hoping to get something back. 3 non runners so far money down the pan on one of them and nrnb on the other two. so far so good. just wish I could stay asleep from now until next Tuesday morning.. Tried but wife won't let me..

It looks 4 miler in elliots mind. Iv no idea if he's confirmed that with the olearys. We've been here before with don poli and roi des francs where it was made obvious the trainer saw them as one for the 4miler.
Don't rule out the rsa and don't rule out the jlt . He'd be very competitive in either imo. The rsa deffinately looks the race for him imo. However the jlt might even be the race to go to as it's cut right up and he'd go pretty close.

All the rage for the RSA is the latest news. From 20s to 11s . Fingers crossed. I'm on at 20s

As we get into these days before the festival we might become a little stressed. I've recently started a podcast about rugby, so not horse racing, but I'd love to share it - wasn't sure where. Mods and OV - would that be ok?

Work away Robith and good luck with it. Just start a thread wherever suits you.

After the Day One entry stage my NR's is up to 18.46%

Total Stake - 1057 pts
Total NR - 195 pts

NRNB pts returned - 44 pts

Live stake - 818 pts

Net profit = -1013 pts

So need to turn the 818 pts in to more than 1013 pts at the moment :very_drunk:

Sorry, for a second I thought that was the number of horses!

Any 33/1 and over fancies? Debuchet, know the score and bachasson for me

Not exactly a fancy but have a little ew on Simply the betts in the Supreme, I know the trainer thinks he's come on a lot from his last race and reckons he has him primed for a big run, and he's currently around 33's

Starting to really hate this anti post betting, as I normally bet one one in a race I think next year I will just back NRNB, the bookies seems to be chasing after your money earlier & earlier and I sure next year will be the same.

I know I will miss out of some bigger prices but personally I would be ok with taking a shorter price and getting my money if it's a non runner, then I can go back to the drawing board without much damage to my pocket.

I'm thinking along the same lines Sir, but there again after last year I was as well, and the year before! It doesn't help neither when you belong to a forum like this, it's very easy to be carried along on the roller coaster when people put up fancies! The last few days have been bad but not disasterous....but there is still time.

Anyone fancy First Flow for the supreme . Ground should suit . Strong pace will suit .unbeaten over hurdles. They must fancy his chances now the ground will have some juice In as he was meant to skip the fest. Suppose to have an engine

I’ve been looking at him today. If it ends up heavy ground I think he must have a chance.

Anyone called Sam?

You could have a Samcro/Sam Spinner/Last Samuri trixie at 82/1

That of course, is stupid... but I am warming very much to Sam Spinner.... on to the stayers hurdle thread I go...

I think it's a case by case basis though and the luck of the draw. 2 years ago FAUGHEEN and a couple of others wrecked my ante post but it came right in the week.

Last year I did none but then I had a shocker - but of the meagre winners I had all I'd turned down bigger ante post prices for.

So I think there's still a place for it. But then again I'm a pretty small stakes punter and I'd be trying to only back 4 points in a race, so if one horse was ruled out it would hurt but it's not the end of the world.

Using for free bets for multiples has been a big boost this year I must add. Owe a lot to this forum for picking up on that!

Not sure this will appeal to anyone, but just to flag that Bet365 have total winning distances under 100 at 11/8:

https://www.bet365.com/#/AC/B2/C171/D20570918/E36442947/F2/G-1/H-1/P10/

And Sunbets has over 95 at 5/4:

https://www.sunbets.co.uk/sports/betting/Racing Specials/competitions/Cheltenham Festival Specials

So if you put the same stake on both you can guarantee a minimum 12.5% profit and if the final result is between 95-100 (bearing in mind the mid-point is likely around 100 so a possibility) then you would have just under 160% profit. If it wasn't the week before the Festival and I had more funds available I would probably do this.

Not sure how much they will let you have especially Sunbets but it is a short price so hopefully a few quid.

I'll do that if it's available tonight

haha...I'm still working on my reading of horse form so this is my contribution to the forum.

I'm sure those with experience of these type of plays know this, but for anyone else do bear in mind that in order for this to pay you need to be able to place the same stake on both. So don't going putting a grand on with Bet365 to find out that Sunbets will only let you have 20 quid. I normally go up in increments, and suggest placing with Sunbets first as I imagine they are most likely to restrict first
