Cheltenham 2018 Ante post bets

Cause of causes entered up on Sunday over 2m1. May well run as schooled together with Sutton place. But would look a crazy race to run In, if he did

Great to see an entry. I'm happy whatever the race for him as long as he's shown to be healthy and still here! Nothing surprises me with Cause of Causes and his early season entries. Last season they ran him over 2 miles first time out. Clearly the last few seasons they've been working his handicap mark done and they still probably have that in mind if another go at the National is still on the go. They need a couple of runs into him before the festival wherever it is. I would like this to lead into the Cross Country Chase in February though

CoC might have a pipe opener but more likely to come over at the Cheltenham sales in February for a XC schooling session like he did last year

Stayers hurdle
Bacardys 33/1 1/4 ew.
I'd be very confident he goes here now

25's with Betvictor otherwise it's 20's best price now :encouragement:

I do think it's very likely they revert back to hurdles with him but i'm actually probably in the minority that thought minus the fall, he jumped ok and showed a huge improvement from his debut over fences (his debut was awful so that might not be saying too much!)

After the loss of NC today and the opportunity to 'cash out' some bets with 365 I'm now in this position overall:

Staked 549 pts
Non runners 74 pts

Live/Open bets 475 pts - (13.48% of total staked are non runners)

On New Years Day last season I had 287 pts staked and 18 pts were NR's (ended up with loads more non runners from that amount but didn't know at the time)

If it makes anyone feel any better, at last years leopardstown Xmas meeting, over 4 days, 28 races.. only 1 went onto win at the festival (let's dance).. maybe there not all 100% this time of year

I've been too busy to watch much racing this year, but have been reading, and appreciate the time & effort all of you guys put in here.

I've backed a fair few in the any race markets, because I'm a lazy fker ;)

It's amazing how many pricing errors are being made in the any race markets this season and they always seem to be take a while for the prices to adjust.

It looks like it could very much be Hendersons year to dominate! Might start a few multiples with some of his horses included.

Have done a 10pt treble Footpad, Apples Jade and Monalee... loved the way Monalee travelled and jumped before his fall and I cant help but think he would have torn away todays opposition. Cannot believe they pushed his price out but have taken it

Be careful on the Monalee bets. I read that he was sore after his fall having been kicked by a couple of horses.

Cheers for the heads up on 365 opening up the cash out opportunity for AP festival bets. Just taken advantage of it!

They're definitely very slow with some adjustments, and I was amazed they left ITCF up at 14s for so long.

Someone on here pointed out that supersundae was 4 points bigger on the any race market than he was for the Stayers after yesterday's race. It's the first market I look at now if I'm wanting to back a horse for Cheltenham.

Cant believe im only getting the chance to jump back into this forum now. Working for a living really sucks so we need a big bookie takedown with one of these yankees lol

Welcome back.

I am confused that I haven't got a bet on BVD, Altior and Might Bite together. That sounds like a bet I definitely would have though about and placed long before they've all been made favourites!!!

Ignore that, I backed a super heinz with Top Notch, Claimantakingforgan, Brain Power and On The Blind Side (for the wrong race)

Me too Kev, much too short now sadly

From that Super Heinz, if BVD, Altior and Might Bite won I'd win less than my stake :highly_amused: so might as well not have it.
