Am I right in thinking it is the Mullins media day tomorrow?

Always a bombshell when these days happen, just waiting for one to be pulled out :highly_amused:

Interesting though the exchange moves for some of the horses, prior to this media day, maybe some confirmed races for some of them?

For £2m

Apple's Shakira
Modus
Don't Touch It
Pendra Kim Muir Challenge Cup
Movewiththetimes
The Storyteller Ultima Handicap Steeple Chase
Rathvinden National Hunt Chase

A few pictures up on twitter, Douvan (looking really fit), Hollowgraphic, Stormy Ireland and Faugheen all looking well, obviously no word on any of them yet but from pictures alone I'd say there seems to be no current problems with them.

As we're in a bit of limbo before the handicap weights come out....

Let's have an answer to each of these....

1. What is the WORST single bet you've placed so far for the 2018 festival
2. What is the horse you're most excited to see, regardless of having a bet
3. Which day are you most excited about?
4. What is your best multiple right now?

1. Tintern Theatre in the Kim Muir, Backed him after his Kempton win in Dec, since then he unseated his rider and ran a SHOCKER on Saturday
2. Long House Hall - Because ive been talking about this horse for months
3. Any day, it just needs to HURRY UP!!
4. Didtheyleaveuoutto, Altior, Samcro - love this trixie

Yorkhill @ 5.50 without BD

Injuries seem to be piling up all of a sudden :( Thankfully not too much on my betting side, but reminds me to be grateful for every moment these incredible horses give me, not just the festival

Unfortunately, it's going to happen more frequently over the next 2 weeks.
Even a minor injury or niggle could now keep any horse out...

I know most big yards have AW gallops at home but the weather over the next week or so will put those that don't at a massive disadvantage. It has to be unlikely that many obstacles will be jumped as final preparations are done....

Makes sense - Does anyone know who doesn’t have all weather gallops ? I think Mullins Henderson & Gordon do

"Interestingly" - On this day last year I had 164 ante post "multiples/specials" backed - for the value of 250 pts

Today I have 166 - for the value of 320 pts

Loose use of the word interesting I know.

One thing I'm going to do more of next year, is multiples.

I do a few, but never remember to get stuck into the lifechangers, and usually try doing those for a laugh during the festival.

Kevin Blake said on twitter yesterday Mullins has covers for the gallops that he hasn't used since the mid 90s but won't miss a beat if it gets really bad.

When talking of this he has clearly stated with confidence that he can 'just as easily get them fit at home'. Weve seen it many times so thats a given for the genius that is Willie Mullins.

As it stands, I've currently staked 490 points... I've spent the majority of this morning working out where my greatest returns will come from and who I am relying on the most.

No surprises here.... If Samcro AND Cause of Causes win, I can only be in profit (although this isn't taking into consideration my bets on the week). I've got several Yankees, Canadians and Heinz with Samcro @ 16's and Cause of Causes @ 6's. Any other horses that go in with these would be a huge bonus and could be on for big money - mainly UDS @ 13/2 and Might Bite @ 8's.

Good luck Jkite. Youve done well with those. Just hope for a good run up to the off and no more NRs!!

Patrick, you're fooling no one with your cover account praising your da

Cheers mate - here's hoping they all get there safe and sound. I think this is my first half decent AP year in I can't remember how long - following the recent Thistlecrack, Faugheen, Annie Power, Sprinte Sacre debacles!

Having said that, ITCF, Mystic Theatre & Finians Oscar (wrong race) have cost me dearly this year!! :highly_amused:

Would be interesting to see how Mullins runners off 300 days+ do at the festival.

Off the top of my head, I can think of Quevega (a couple of times) & Arctic Fire.

Fiveforthree also placed in the Coral cup after 727 days off.

Qualifiers this year off the top of my head include Douvan & Penhill.
