Cheltenham 2017 Antepost Bets

It's gonna be a big week. First year I've properly followed racing, there's been some good wins and some tough losses but all smiles. Well said BC, hope everyone makes it back alright and everyone enjoys the craic! Thanks to you guys for the solid chat and wise heads.

Interesting Seemore, how do you come to use the name of a fabulous horse from the nineties if you've just started following racing, just being nosy coz he's my second fav horse

I'd like to echo BC's thoughts. It's been great craic on here once again and so much better than the other forums I've been on.

Good luck everyone. I look forward to hearing how we all got on this time next week.

Well said FM, agree with all that, thanks for all your efforts ov.
Hope at least one forum bet comes off then we all celebrate the same thing, but let's concentrate on enjoying it, whatever the financial outcome, and as BC says be grateful for these guys and gals that risk their lives on a daily basis to bring us this fabulous sport and this particularly incredible event, and don't forget to

WIN BIG

He was the first horse I ever won on, my old man put a fiver on him to win the Gold Cup for me when I was about 9! Probably still my favourite horse with Vautour...

I was on him then as well, I'd been on him the year before when he was run out by Cyborgo, he was the last leg of a yankee for me, the first 3 had all won

Seriously peeeed off now
Another 2 ante post bets pulled out today
Finians Oscar and the storyteller
Getting paranoid now, think there's a plot against me

Yep Liam it's horrific, and it's not just you....Finians and TS today Whisper and Ballyandy a couple of days ago to go with the constant stream of NRs through the winter, my only single worth anything is ADO backed early last year and topped up at larger odds over the last few months, just made things very difficult for me to make a profit this year.

I feel your pain guys. The funny thing about ADO is I have it in singles. But I also had it in a double with Thistlecrack at 95/1.
So there's no good result now! :disgust:

Tony Dobbin was my old mans favorite jockey and he told me that Go Ballistic was certain of a place. I remember being in Laddies and my old man was going mental from 2 out, he never told me how much he had on Gb but im fairly sure it was the rent money!

Need some assistance, as a nightmare getting through to bookies.
Have about 5 doubles/accumulators going at present. All NRNB.
What rule is applied If one of them is taken our or runs in a different race?

That non runner will be void and the bet will turn into a single

Westapproch stayers 8-1 without ukwimh
Hare breath arkle 10-1 without altior-
Special tiara cchase 9-2 without douvan
Ew patent.

Probably won't get much chance to post on here now before or during the festival.

Good luck all, been a pleasure being on here for the first time this season and some of the knowledge, info and opinions have been invaluable, will be back for more for 2018 :encouragement:

I second that as well. Great bunch of ppl on here and definitely the best and most informative forum I have been on.

Good luck to you all this coming week and I really hope one of us hits it big.

Enjoy Jono and have a great week. I'll try and make the face to face if I'm on the course in time.

Added since:-

Pertemps - Jury Duty 16/1 (EW) NRNB
Champion Bumper - Delirant & If The Cap Fits 25/1 (EW) NRNB
Kim Muir - Heron Heights 33/1 (EW) NRNB
County - Ice Cold Soul 20/1 (EW) NRNB
Brown Advisory - Frodon 20/1 (EW) NRNB
Close Brothers - Tully East 25/1 (EW)
Neptune - Messire Des Obeaux 12/1 (W)
Ultima - Singlefarmpayment 10/1 (W) NRNB

Final two before the day:-

National Hunt Chase - Marinero 25/1 (EW) NRNB
Mares - Rock On The Moor 50/1 (EW) NRNB

This is how I would view the drying ground in respect of my best chances:-

Brain Power +
Messire Des Obeaux -
Royal Vacation -
Peregrine Run +
Empire Of Dirt +
Unowhatimeanharry -
Defi Du Seuil -
Death Duty -

So a little bit of rain later in the week might help. I would settle for Empire Of Dirt doing what I hope/expect.

Good luck to all.

Ill mix a few of those KB...Rock on the Moor seems a silly price.

Rock On The Moor @ 66/1
Marinero @ 20/1
Heron Heights @ 20/1
Messire Des Obeaux @ 10/1
Tully East @ 20/1
Super Yankee, 26 bets * £0.50 E/W

Bad news they have taken out Marinero (not sure if they have something else in mind but I thought the trip here might help). Subbed in Tiger Roll. He is a bit of a rogue but if he has a going day he has a chance and the drying ground a big help. 16/1, four places isn't too bad. I took the 50/1 Rock On The Moor thinking one of the front three would come out but haven't given up hope. Again the drying ground in her favour and she ran much her best race last year. Not so sure the front three are as far clear as the market suggests.

I rarely do multiples, last double was probably Min and Douvan last year. Altior well and truly put paid to that.

Good luck.

Probably my final post until after the festival and not even sure its on the right thread! i realise that im not a prolific poster, partly due too me not having the fantastic in depth knowledge that some of you guys have, but i do enjoy reading and learning from you all. This is by far and away the best racing forum around so continue with the good work. I come on here whenever i have a fancy for a race (every night for the past month) to find out whether it may be a good thing or whether to look elsewhere. I have gleaned, and backed a lot of horses for Cheltenham after reading the debates on here and hopefully making inspired decisions. Good luck to each and every one of you for the forthcoming week and i look forward to reading of your successes
