Cheltenham 2017 Antepost Bets

Douvan, Altior to boost the bet, what the odds for 10 favs to win? is any bookmakers offer such a bet??

worth a point or two, think I would be laying it off big time if the first 8 came in, me old ticker couldn't take it..

I'll ask Skybet for 10+ winning favourites

Haha, I think you should have a read of this before investing too much... Around 7 winning favs is 'the bar' and that is for all 28 races.... to pick out 10 and get them in the same bet would be incredible, and a little too obvious?

Definitely worth a read guys.... :encouragement:

Sure its unlikely Kev but thats gambling, the acca at 7386/1, worth a fiver of anyones money - what can you get for a fiver these days?

lol, so if the last time 10 favs won was 2003 do you think the bookies would offer me odds around 20/1 16/1? I'm guessing if I asked with so many hot pots running this year I would get offered 5/1 and a max stake as well..

the 7386/1 would be even more fun if its with one of the bookies free bets..

There is a difference between a gamble and a punt though :devilish:

I have been recording every bet I make for over 2 years now and it soon stopped me putting on these kind of "life changers" (Not saying you're wrong in any way of course)

Think it all comes down to personal preference, I don't place many at small stakes but I don't mind having a very large bet on a fav.

You are right, you can't get much for a fiver...but with the amount of bets I place, these £5 quids would start totting up very quickly and before I knew it, I'd have 20 dead bets, when I could have had £100 on VVM at 6/4?

Or on any of the other 9 winning favs :encouragement:

I take your point - as you say it's down to personal preference. I won't place anywhere near the number of bets as you. Therefore i'm of the mindset that if all these 10 horses won, even though i'd have backed them all in separate bets and be very well off, i'd be absolutely gutted I didn't chuck that fiver on this, more gutted than losing that fiver. I don't place many life changers at all throughout the year so 1 during the best week of the year - why not ;)

Just had a small stake E/W Heinz, hoping i've got all the intended targets correct and they get there fit and well.

Supreme Hurdle - Ballyandy @7/1
Ryan Air- UDS @4/1
Neptune Hurdle- Neon Wolf @3/1
Albert Bartlett - Augusta Kate @9/1
Champion Bumper - Western Ryder @ 12/1
Coral Cup - Peregrine Run @ 20/1

Win pays £229k
Place pays £800

This probably won't be everyone's cup of tea but I've had just a small 1pt on the SkyBet RequestABet, Willie Mullins to have the 1-2 in the Supreme, it's only 12/1 but it opens up having any of his current 4 in the top 2 and for me the field isn't looking overly special.

It's looking likely that Melon is his 'good thing' this year and if that's the case will likely fill one of the first 2 spots, my reasoning behind the bet is that Moon Racer will go for the CH, that would leave WM with the 1st, 3rd and joint 5th favourite's for the race plus possibly a couple more in the race at bigger odds, and I can end up with any of them in any order for 1st & 2nd.

I know it's a very speculative punt, but for 1pt it doesn't affect my ante post potential P/L an awful lot so had a go.

Needed/wanted to cover some of the "shorties" that I've missed the decent prices on.

Low(ish) stakes Win Yankee:
Melon (Supreme)
Neon Wolf (Neptune)
Death Duty (AB)
Native River (GC)

2 (ish) pts placed, potential return = 124 pts

Nice looking Heinz that, Jkite :)
