Cheltenham 2017 Antepost Bets

If you are looking for clues where Mullins horses are going check Paddy Power prices.

Definitely seems a good guide in my experience so far. I'm sure some people have been stung before though?

Just had a double on Altior and Douvan at 11/1 with 365. Can't see either of them in a different race now and that double will get shorter and shorter until its 3/1 MAX.

Currently one of my fav ante post bets for the fes, altior arkle 5/1, yorkhill JLT 9/2, invitation only 10/1 Neptune, on the fringe 6/1 foxhunters, pays a cool 2111/1, not a bad Yankee if you ask me!!

Ive got Invitation Only marked down as an Albert Bart horse, but wish you the best of luck pal

I personally can't see invitation only over 3 miles this season, believe willie will send death duty and battleford for the AB

Betvictor are STILL 41/1 for the Altior Arkle Yorkhill JLT double

That seems huge at 41/1, is that with e/w and at 1/4 the odds?

It was 1/5 I think .... they are now 7/2 though and the 5s has disappeared from view. Best price 4s....

Don't remember being more excited than this ever before a season has started.

Hello all... I have been following the forum for the last couple of years and now thought that I should get stuck in!
I'm relatively new to all this - having only been to the last three Festivals, but I have picked up a great deal of knowledge from reading your comments.

Apologies if I make any novicey errors.. all part of the learning process :)

Welcome Leman ( and all our new posters)

This forum becomes a fabulous addiction, the fact we were all checking the forum this early and then started to post just shows are enthusiasm for the best show on turf!!

Love this time of year. Everyday there are more and more news stories regarding the national hunt. Lots of open days and trainer interviews for horses targets. And even better to be able to talk about it all on here so early on :)

Did anyone get today's racing post, I stupidly forgot so have missed out on the articles for Elliott's and Hendersons open days....!!

I'm not sure what I did before I joined this forum.

Yes gjt, like always not a lot of substance im afraid. My big bet on the Mares on Kotkikova is being schooled over fences lol!!! Bloody Mary more likely to go to the mares. His national horses look like being Triolo D,Hadrians App, Cocktails at Dawn, Vyta Du Roc.
Not sure about Buveur D'air but sounds like leaning towards hurdling, MTOY staying Hurdling, PEace and Co wind op. He wasnt really going over the top about any of his novices Jenkins the most obvious one to follow in Altiors footsteps.

Elliot sayes he thinkss Death Duty could be very good (which is a good boost to Blow by blow), Diamond King will be aimed a JLT, Tycoon Prince is one they still think a lot of and i suspect that he will pop up in a handicap hurdle sooner rather later. Thats it really apart from Don Cossack continues on his rehab but a long way to go till hes back

This Jenkins appears is just about every horse to follow publication I've seen, every pundit seems to have positive things to say about his progress since last season, if you believe the hype he could be special....

Jenkins is going to be a nice sort that's for sure who interests me is another of Hendos who hasn't had much publicity but has been noticed and has a few whispers for him which is a horse by the name of top ville Ben, another interesting one is Paul Nicholls Capitaine who Paul himself has been quoted as saying he has been the apple of his eye since he got him, Nicholls not really renowned for his supreme horses though over recent years is the question about where he goes...

I would have thought he would be Nickys supreme horse, we may see him once or twice throughout the season over 2m2f or 2m4f I would have thought just to assure his stamina for getting up the hill, really does depend on how well he has summered and also what else is in the yard which we may not know about yet

Does anyone remember how bullish Hendo was regarding Altior around this time last season?

Altior managed to get solid ratings and performances in the book rather than just being hype didn't he. The performance at Christmas was really impressive when he put two Mullins horses away (I think one was Open Eagle - who evidently wasn't Mullins top class) but he beat them by big distances...

I think Mullins will have the fave again so we can afford to 'want and see' with Jenkins to see if he gets the form in the book...definitely interested in him though...

Apple of Nicholls eye... gotta be careful with that haven't we...
