Cheltenham 2017 Antepost Bets

They must be optimistic if they think TNO is capable of winning a Champion Hurdle...... Even this one!

Wholestone, on the other hand, has to have a solid chance. I'm hoping that I can get a match bet between Wholestone and West Approach at some point - he could be maximum bet material if I can get evens or better in a match.

I am fully behind you with who I think would come out on top. However, that would be one of the bravest bets that I have ever been aware of!

I'd be so scared of Wholestone being passed late on after a battle or two whilst WA picks up pieces (if not good enough to win)? OR a fall?

I do think Wholestone at evens woul be a good value bet in principal, as he is ahead in the head to heads and no reason to doubt it... but the chance of it happening is only a little worse than even 4/5? .... so at even that seems a lot of risk for only a little bit of value?

Faugheen Big Potatoes :highly_amused:

I usually do a few of these at the festival. Others I'm interested in:

Mega Fortune to beat Bapaume (if the money comes for Bapaume)
Buveur D'air to beat Yanworth
Ballyward to beat Carter McKay
Neon Wolf to beat Finians Oscar.

I don't see any other outcome in a match - maybe I'm blinkered. I need to back my opinion on this one.

They'd all be price dependant I assume?
The CH one would be skewed by the jockey too?

I've two lucky 15's done from a while ago, but theyve been obliterated already

Death Duty - Albert Bartlett
Bellshill - RSA
Finians Oscar - Neptune
Getabird - Bumper

Moon Racer - Supreme
Augusta Kate - Albert Bartlett
Bellshill - RSA
Getabird - Bumper

Back to the drawing board me thinks!

The forum already have a Win Yankee and EW yankee that still look live... get involved

Unfortunate that IC, but when you focus on the novice races and include Mullins horses you are playing with fire...

I've got a ridiculous number of doubles, trebles, trixies, patents and yankees, just transferred them to one sheet and didn't realise how many until I did and way too many to list here, but the majority have Cantlow, Defi de Seuil, UnknowwhatImeanharry, On The Fringe, Death Duty and Yanworth with a few of the more speculative ones all having Western Ryder.
Ante Post frenzy !

Playing with fire indeed. I had alot more done this time last year but Faugheen killed alot of them off, so ive been a bit more wary this year and held off so far

Yes, i'll certainly have a look. My options for other bets have opened from reading this forum. You guys sure know your stuff!

:devilish: We'll see by 18th March if that is actually true :highly_amused:

I would love to see that spread sheet :encouragement: I have found myself that most bets that I placed with one of those first 4 JP horses ypu mentioned, at LEAST 1 other follows. Must be a psychological draw to those colours!

Don't do spreadsheets Kev lol !

Amazing how many JP horses are in there, never intended it like that I just think he goes with the best battalion h's ever had, has some real class animals.
If JP has a bad week I'll be found hanging off the grandstand roof....

Haha well, if you're going to be against Mullins/Ricci.... easiest option is to hug on to JP :devilish: ... in all fairness, at least targets aren't an issue and that is at least half the battle with ante-post in the last couple of years!

How many bets have you had Ista... I guess more than you thought? Forum to blame? :)

Monster Yankee e/w just placed (Monster payout i mean)

Close- Blazer
RSA- Alpha Des Obeaux
Bumper- Western Ryder
Pertemps- Presenting Percy

I'm just about to take a long walk into town to Hills for the Fletchers Flyer, NH Chase 25/1 and Mall Dini, Ultima, 16/1 singles and doubles, may even sneak Western Ryder in there for a real life changer...

I might put a bet on in cash... the idea of walking to the bookies to collect on Wednesday night is making me bubble with excitement haha

Just did the singles and double at the prices.
Threw in Western Ryder (14/1) and Wholestone (7/1) for a £350k payout....
