If i was on Betfair i would let you. God knows how much id be spending if i was on that site.

Hi Lads,

I use to always go on the Punters Lounge but the last few years the Cheltenham Festival section has seen less and less people talking about the greatest show on Turf so looks like I have to come to the right place.

For many a year I have loved to bet on the Festival ante-post where I have had some very good prices and some that have gone wayward which is all about the fun of trying to beat the market. My best prices over the years have been The New One (Neptune) 20/1, Faugheen 16/1, 6/1, 9/2 (Neptune), Our Connor 16/1 (Triumph) and my oh so nearly one was Barizan 50/1 (Triumph) this year again I got on Faugheen before he took apart a grade 1 at the Punchestown Festival.

I thought I would share my ante-post bets as below, some have gone wayward and others I wished I had backed at better prices but like to use to my profit from betting over the year so I'm playing with the bookies money.

Supreme

Douvan 5/2
Seedling 25/1 E/W

Arkle

Un De Sceaux 3/1

Champion Hurdle

Faugheen 12/1 (E/W)

Mares Hurdle

Carole's Spirit 10/1 (E/W)

National Hunt Chase

Wounded Warrior 8/1 (E/W)

Neptune Novices

Tell Us More 16/1 (E/W)

RSA Chase

Kings Palace 6/1
Apache Jack (25/1)

Queen Mother

Sprinter Sacre 3/1
Champagne Fever 7/1

JLT

Vautour 4/1

Ryanair

Don Cossack 7/1
Balleycassey 16/1 (E/W)

World Hurdle

More of That (4/1)
Beat That 16/1 (E/W)

Triumph

Disccismo 33/1 (E/W)

Albert Bartlett

Black Hercules 10/1 (E/W)

Gold Cup

Bobs Worth (16/1) (10/1) E/W
Rocky Creek 50/1 E/W

Foxhunters

Current Event 10/1 E/W

Some I feel have gone wayward but other's I'm hopeful, fingers crossed. Hope everyone has a cracking week, really can't wait now.

Welcome onboard Bobsworth. Day 1's profit looks a dead cert for you. The others also look decent but I would buy your day 1 slip @ 2/1. :D

:D here's hoping, if all three of them win especially Faugheen then I may change my name by Deed Poll to "Faugheen"

Bobsworth well done on the 12/1 Faugheen, I backed him straight after Punchestown and the best I could do was 6/1, great bet that of yours, I hope you got plenty on, will you lay him off now or is that not your thing?

Cheers OV.

I love Bobs Worth and have followed him throughout his career and has made me some nice money throughout too.

Apart of me is probably backing him through sentiment this year as I think when he won the GC it takes a hell of a lot out of a horse and just hasn't being the same since.

But I'm taking heart out of his Lexus run that it wasn't ground he goes on plus it looked to me a bit of "schooling" ride by Barry in readiness for his big day come March. I was already on at 10/1 and when he was pushed out to 16/1 then I couldn't resist as if he is coming round that bend and still in contention then when he see's that hill then hopefully it's take off time.

Cheers Mr McGoldrick.

Huge fan of Faugheen as I was told to back him for last year's Neptune by one of my mates who has contacts in Ireland so just kept on topping up throughout the year, was pretty sweet seeing him ping the last and hoping for the same this year in the Champion.

I have £25 E/W at 12/1 and to be honest it's not my kind of thing (Betfair) to do although I should really as last year I had £10 E/W 40/1 on Athletico Madrid to win the Champions League only for them to break my heart in stoppage time.

Worth looking at even if to protect your stake, having said that I haven't laid mine off yet, just waiting to see what kind of price he is nearer the time and what opposition turns up, I can't help feeling that we are going to see a couple of the big guns get pulled through problems. I'm not convinced that all's well with TNO, I know NTD is making assuring noises about his form, but he doesn't seem to have hit the form of the past two seasons to me. I could be wide of the mark but if one or two of the really fancied runners were pulled out Faugheen's price would probably be similar to UDS, I shouldn't think like this really because the big gun coming out of the champion could just as easily be Faugheen as anything else, then I'll be sick that I haven't already laid him.

2pts on the 19/1 L'ami serge - Sprinter Sacre double with Betfair sportsbook.

Might be about time to start putting on a few multiple bets including short priced runners, I'm looking at
Douvan
Sprinter S
Vautour
Silvniaco
Peace and Co

probably trebles, 4 timers and acca on the five, then mix them up with a few others over the next three weeks, any thoughts, has anyone already done anything like this, I would think some have, just looking for ideas.

Thats one of the best acca I think MG.

I usually try to get a few of these on prior to racing starting, if I cross bet with a few I sometimes get decent bets running into the last 2 days, I can then bet slightly differently on those days knowing some of my options are already covered.

Thats a good strategy MrMcG,youve put me on to this...I'm gonna do Douvan, Annie Power, UDS, along with two bigger price favs Black Hercules and Silv Conti, so am hoping the first 3 will romp home as I believe and then a nice sweat for last day;)

Wow thar pic of Big Bucks has made my day, my fav horse and brings back memories of my only visit to the great place in 2011 when the machine that was Big Bucks stormed up the hill for another win...briiilllll;)

I like how you're mixing the horses in different bets Lester, I try to do that, cover more options

How are we going to pick the official FJ accumulator ?
