Champion Hurdle 2020

Wait till Envoi Allen wins by 5 lengths this weekend and he heads down this route......

He looks like a relentless galloper, rather than one with a change of gear to me.

I think they'd be making a mistake running in the Supreme, let alone a Champion Hurdle

I think EA is good enough to win either race, he's that good.

I think where he goes will depend more on Gordon's other horses myself.

You need to stay to win either- see Vautour, Faugheen Douvan etc. while they obviously have pace, they did win champions/supremes from the front making all.

Agreed, but all three of those had a change of gear. He'd be more like Champagne Fever imo.

Wrong thread anyway.

I'd have said that after his bumper runs too.
But he looked different in his maiden win. Almost Like the hurdles woke him up a bit.
But we'll see how he fares this Sunday if declared.

I hope newcastle is off tomorrow. might see some imagination then from Henderson. with B Dair

You wont see a much better ride than BJG on sire de berlais in the pertemps

Easily the best ride of last year's festival. His ride on buveur Dair was superb in 2018 champion hurdle too imo.

He gets plenty of stick but it's just a load of pocket talk.

No pocket talk from me.
He rides a hell of a lot of good horses and is a hood jockey overall.
This years ride made up for glenloe.
all jockeys have good and bad days.
They are an important part of the decision making process when betting. And should not be regarded as unquestionable.
There is no denying he can be a little careful on novice chasers. this can payoff in the long term, but can also ruin some horses confidence.
And he nearly killed champ and himself today by not looking where he was going.

NO POCKET TALK HERE EITHER
Observation only

My NEW BEST MATE Q puts it eloquently and don’t need to elaborate

That's fair enough Q. The way some talk you'd think he absolutely hopeless. No one is above criticism but it's always the poor rides that get brought up.

I always find relentless jockey bashing tiresome though. Ruby Walsh would get pelters and he is the best jockey I've seen. If Ruby got stick, then what hope for the rest.

Yep the criticism for falling off in full flight never sits right with me.
But I'll always sit up and take notice if it's a technical or attitude thing, to see if i agree or not.
We will all have our opinions on the skill sets of jockeys.
it can be just as annoying to see people leap to a jockeys defence as it is to be annoyed by criticism.
especially If you've formed your own opinion and aren't just being a mardy arse cos you've lost.

I don't vote, and it annoys me when people say that people died to get me the right to vote, as I'd say that surely gives me the same right to choose not to vote.
They seem to do that a lot in parliament anyway (abstaining when the gaffer tells them to)
You should earn the right to vote by proving you're not an idiot or bigot for a start.

That got all political didn't it ?

A hell of a lot of sense in that last para. :encouragement:
