What sort of run would you have to see from samcro at the weekend to make you back him for the stayers??

Or would he go CH no matter what?

Worth noting they'll suspend betting on the CH market during this race. Unlikely they will for the stayers.

Elliot seems set on the Champion judging by that interview.

Can't see them diverting to the Stayers' at all tbh.

He'd had to be tailed off just for it to be under consideration, but I don't see that happening either.

100% but if he's not good enough (you'll have a good idea after this race) do you go for the place money. Or do you run in a grade 1 championship race which you sponsor yourself ?

At least I wont waste any cash on the JLT. He says Newcastle will be 'sharp enough' already making excuses. BD should win but on first run, SB on first run. Fighting Fifth could be a messy race ripe for an upset :devilish:

Hard to know what kind of rave would be "not good enough" ... to look like he'd be better in the stayers he'll have to get out paced and look like staying on... bit them Elliott had already said the stiffer track at Cheltenham week play to his strengths ...

Personally, I think Samcro has got to win on saturday. Anything else will be a disappointment.

I agree, however, ultimately the Champion Hurdle is the one they want. If it doesn't happen in this you'd feel they can still have him ready for the festival. What I'm looking for is improvement way past Bedrock myself, so my suspicions of Samcro & Sharjah cutting each others throats are confirmed. If he can't do that then I would then have serious questions. They should get a fair pace, as looks as though Bleu Et Rouge is in there to make it a fair test.

If PP/Betfair are anything to go by they expect a big showing by Samcro offering just 13/8 on him, the shortest of any, by some way in some cases.

I’d have no doubt Samcro will be better over 2m at Cheltenham than Newcastle, Gordon’s words don’t fill me with confidence and I can see a downside in all three of the principles.

They'll just leave Bleu Et Rouge and 2nd will become the pacemaker :devilish:

I’ve been debating whether or not to back Summerville Boy for a while so I took 22/1 on him to win the FF & CH.

Who was that with charlie, as was looking for the same bet on BD?

Surely you just back them to win this weekend then role the stake straight after the race, I would expect you to get bigger returns ?

If they win this weekend they will shorten for the CH though... assuming BD goes 2/1 after winning, its about the same price. Must admit I was hoping I might get 6/1 though.

I stuck a tenner on @ 22/1. £10 @ 4/1 for the FF returns £50. Were SB to win he would have to remain 4/1 or higher for the rolling stake to return more, and he would be less than 4/1 were he to beat BVD and Samcro.
