Champion Bumper ‘25

Excited to see Walks In June at Fairyhouse tomorrow. My only play so far in this race.

Patrick has obviously talked up Green Splendour and despite the weather making it hard to watch the whole race, I was quite taken with WIJ and thought he was the one to take out of the race. Couple of nice types in the race so could be informative.

Does Henry run many in the bumper?

I've got him as one to keep onside next season in the staying hurdle division. I doubt he'll go unnoticed, given his connections, though.

No he doesn't. But has he had many prominent bumper horses that he has chosen not to go with? May well have done, and may have missed it, but its not something I have in my mind as a reason to avoid his for this race?

Is there any word for Reckless running this afternoon at Gowran Park?

Can't find any mention in any write ups anywhere, but the pedigree looks interesting.

Mentioned him on the last page. No word for him but I doubt they'll send a 4yo to Cheltenham.

Well I take on board what you've said about 4 year olds, but I'm going to take some of the 40s EW for the bumper just incase he wins impressively.

Update: It did not.

Post it in here although I don't think the winner will come here but the Gowran bumper for 4yos tomorrow has a nicely bred Gigginstown horse, bought for 160k as a store. By Doctor Dino and there were 3 Gigginstown horses entered in this at entries by Doctor Dino from memory, including the half to BDA, Mighty Potter etc. Seem to be buying more horses that you'd expect to have a fair bit of speed from than they used to buy in the past.

Be interesting how he gets on. The Queally horse is well related (the half sister beat Sortudo at Xmas and 2nd to Amen Kate first time up) as well.

Quellys got 2 nice bumper horses. Massive drift on the Gigginstown horse through the day.

Plenty of support for Theflyingking this morning into clear favourite now after being as big as 9/4 at one stage.

The 66/1 win today & at the festival could look decent this afternoon if the money is right!

Anyone know anything about Adiemus fav for the bumper tomorrow at Naas and same connections as Jasmine de vaux who won the corresponding race last year?

Saw that last night too but all we seem to have as info is what you've put in your post. I've fucked this market off to be honest and would need more than the standard 25s/33s to get involved. Too many unknowns so he probably has as much chance as anything out so far!

I’ve heard he’s well thought of at home and they’ll think he’ll be hard to beat today. I’ve taken 2pts @ 25/1 NRNB given that he might bomb and then not go. And also 1pt @ 50/1 WTAF which offers good value in the context that he’s evens for today.

Willies comment

Looks a nice type to have in the yard. He has every chance on what we see at home.

Patrick's comment

“It’s a two miles two bumper, Jasmin De Vaux won it last year and he wouldn’t be unlike Jasmin. He’s not much to look at, he’s a smaller, slighter type by a stallion I don’t know much about in Guiliani," he said.
“He wasn’t an expensive store but I think he has a bit of speed and it looks the weaker of the weekend bumpers. I don’t think there’s as much depth to this one as there was the Fairyhouse race on Saturday and I’d be disappointed if he doesn’t do the business.

“I like his work at home and I think he has a little turn of foot. Hopefully he can follow up Jasmin’s win there last year.”

Thanks all, I had went with the TWAF approach as well

….maybe worth noting that PP have cut Adiemus WTAF from 40-1 to 25-1. Hills still 40-1.

Blue across Oddschecker, 25-1 AP available, Hills are 20-1 NRNB.

Is this not just another 1 off the conveyor belt? There's been so many this season from Gordon and Willie and 'bumper horse'

Maybe they don't have any outstanding ones this year (Willie especially)

The mare of Willies was the most impressive I've seen from him and obviously Kalypso from Gordon, but with Giggy willing to chuck Jalon in the bumper too, does that mean Kalypso isn't going? Can't imagine the O'learys throwing loads of darts at it.

Possibly / probably but after JDV last year prepared to throw a few quid to find out

I wouldn't be chancing anything in the Bumper now until we see the DRF races. I've got Future Prospect and Classical Creek, which looks dead, but I've not seen anything to beat Future Prospect. The Mares bumper at the DRF could be the most competitive bumper we see pre Cheltenham

The vibes around Kalypso are odd - he's been their best bumper horse and Elliott and others keen to talk about others and quiet on him.

Adiemus is just a blind guess, just like the Mullins horse yesterday. If they've been in a PTP or there's been a bit of chat about them previously like we had with Facile Vega, then you've got something to base a bet on.

Backing him before today you're just guessing he's going to be good based on him either being in this bumper (Jasmin won it last year),no Mullins gelding putting their hand up yet or whatever other reason.

The bumper today is poor - American Jukebox isn't very good, the winner of his bumper at Christmas sold yesterday for not very much for a Leopardstown bumper winner and his first run was awful. He may win today without actually needing to be any good.

It may pay off with this one today but could have had a bet on dozens of horses in this race already based on any reasoning for Adiemus today.

My Champion Bumper efforts have been a shit show.

Too many 'potential good things' have turned out to be rotten.

A bad year for it for me.

I think Future Propsect is the best I've seen at least, so she may be my hail Mary play.

Yep it’s been a bollocks this year. I’d agree with DenmanSacre that Future Prospect is just about the nicest one so far.
