This will probably be the shortest lived thread in the history of FJ :excitement: But for a bit of fun, what are your main fancies for Boxing Day? I have selected my list and backed some of them. Not happy with my King George bets because i am scared stiff of L'Homme Presse and Envoi Allen but every horse seems to have a question mark and you can't back them all. On the basis that I don't believe either will be but the overuse of the phrase has worn me down, I'm inclined to do an "if they're back to their best" double on Constitution Hill and Il Est Francais which pays around 9.5/1. Chuck in "will win if he's as good as they say" Kopek Des Bordes in the first at Leopardstown and you've a decent trixie.

Not had a proper look yet but Kawaboomga at 5/1 e/w isn't bad or 6/5 the place. Doubt he beats Kopek though by the sounds of it so probably just do the place.

Murcia is 7/1 so done that e/w. She shouldn't be larger odds than NN.

Final Orders has been well found now at 12s or lower. Great record at Leopardstown. Not sure if I'll back but One Last Tango is of interest.

Theflyingking should win.

The Limerick grade 2 is poor - The Big Westerner should beat them.

Leader in the Park's got a great chance.

Floridas Dream and Fortunate Man at Aintree

The Big Westerner

Fortunate Man

Decent showing.

Tomorrow I've done:

The Last Kingdom - 11/8 this morning with Bet365. 6/4 now available elsewhere. Just wins.

It's for Me - 7/4. Should be odds on.

Done a small double on them as well.

Need to look at the Welsh National and Paddy Power chase.

Welsh National

Ground showing as soft, good to soft at the moment so won't get the usual heavy ground slog.

Typically looking for a 6-8 year old, had a prep run and ran well, good form at Chepstow or other undulating trips, rides prominently, less than 11 stone.

I'll ignore all those who haven't run so far this year.

The shortlist is:

Val Dancer - 12/1 Bet365 but shorter generally. Won over 3m2 at Carlisle in November, winning a shade cosily and up 5 pounds. Will be at the front and might get a good time of it out front. Good record on undulating tracks - 1131 over fences. No Chepstow form though.

Your Own Story - 16/1 Bet365 or 3/1 place top 4. On a losing streak and high enough in the weights. Has the stamina for this, good record on undulating tracks. Not a bet yet and likely just to do the place bet.

Paddy Power Chase

28 runner field over 3m and always a great race to watch.

Like the Welsh National, usually had a prep run so ignoring those who are turning up here first time.

Will Do is well found in the market now so wouldn't touch him at his price.

Positive Thinker 10/1 place top 4 - running well over these trips. May do a smaller win bet at 40s or higher.

Small bet on Perceval Legalois each way 12/1 - he'll win one of these big handicaps at some point but not sure if will be today's pot.

Main fancy is Midnight Our Fred, but the jockey slightly puts me off. 10/1 at the moment and shortening.

Lottery of a race though.

Not often you get the 1st in the Welsh National and the 1/2 in the Paddy Power!

Boom, had a mixed double on yours DenmanSacre. Thank you mate

Fair play. I don't really do multiples so at least that's paid out for you. Was hoping Midnight Our Fred would hold on as won more on him but Perci came through really well.
