Ballymore (Previously Neptune) Novice Hurdle 2018

Eddie O'Leary says Samcro not running at Naas on Sunday as his scope was not 100% this morning

'He scoped a little bit dirty earlier. It is nothing serious. We just could not take the chance with him'. Will now be aimed at the Dublin racing festival early Feb. To be honest if I was Gordon Elliott I wouldn't have wanted to give Willie the sighter. Willie probably wanted to run Next Destination against Samcro to see where he stood against the Ballymore favourite, with others from his yard waiting in the wings as possibles for that race

Holding Samcro's price ready for a Ballymore smash job :devilish:

Hope all is ok, never really know, hope he firing fit come March

I wonder how many people backed him today with pp?

I wonder how many in the know got on ND this morning at around the 2/1 mark

Pretty sure he was 11/4. But same theory.

Yeah he was but was thinking they may have trimmed him gradually as the money started to come. Was probably in such quantities he went straight from 11/4 to odds on

'Such quantities'

This is PP we're talking about, so lets not go too crazy.

Fair one. Have ND for the Albert Bartlett so hoping he doesn’t impress too much, Elliott should have something decent in opposition now regardless

I’ve just had a small go on Blow By Blow for the lawlors at 20s. Looking at the horses Elliott might run most can be dismissed due to recent run/alternative targets. Have no idea if Blow By Blow is right and will take his chance but he has the ability to run ND close if coming on for his two runs this year. In fact that form isn’t at all bad regardless, having just been touched off by Discorama on reappearance who has since finished second to Ex Patriot. Happy to risk him not running as have only had a small interest at the prices

whats people's thoughts on Samcro after he scoped dirty? I know he has the race in Feb in mind, but are people concerned for festival or think all is well? I just hope there is nothing more to it.

Maybe I'm just overthinking things as have so much on Ante-post

If ND wasn't running then Samcro would be is my thoughts...

Must admit Im quite tempted to add Speak Easy at 25/1 for this before the weekend. Think he could give ND a fright. Was very taken with his debut run.

If you do fancy him, would you not be better off backing him at 8/1 at the weekend in a far less competative race than the ballymore?
I work it out as 7 runners in naas. 8 if duc des genievres runs but his price says he dosent.

Been stung before by one of jp's that was confirmed for a race before being taken out.
