Ballymore Novice Hurdle 2020

Luckily for racing fans not everyone wants to (supposedly) avoid Envoi Allen...

Martin Brassil hopes to run his Longhouse Poet, an impressive winner of a Navan maiden hurdle on his most recent start.

Brassil said: "He's a nice horse and he won well at Navan. The Lawlor's fits into his programme nicely and the plan is for him to go there. It will be a big step up from Navan, but I've been very happy with him and he'll go to Naas."
"

Do we know the plan for Elixir D'ainay at the moment?

I'm quite invested in that formline with Longhouse Poet and if Envoi Allen does get turned over it''ll be by one of those on what we've seen so far.

A race to really look forward to!

Elixir is a point more than Longhouse for this race so he could be a potential runner. I’ve not read anything concrete though. I like the form line too but I’m biased.

Ah excellent. I haven't seen the market but if Envoi Allen gets over bet and they're each way prices they'll be bets to nothing potentially.

A lot of ifs and buts to put too much time into thinking about that though.

Just wait until the day and bet without Envoi. No point wasting win bets on Ew punts now guys unless you think EA will go elsewhere or not run to form on day. They'll probably offer money back if Envoi wins or/and additional places. This has to be the way forward.

You've changed your tune quickly Lobos.

Sky typically offer £20 money returned as cash if you back anloser in the 1st race of everyday at the festival

Would be one to bare in mind

Spot on. Hold all gets in Ballymore. Great advice.

For the select few that they allow such offers.

If your getting theses offers, your profitable for them.

Has to be the way forward?

A week ago the way forward in your opinion was to back horses for this race because EA was going Supreme?

You're always going to be behind the curve that way?

I've already backed Elixir and Longhouse each way at bigger prices than they are now?

.... and EA is not value because he's so well known in the market. He's in my book already at double figures, but to suggest there is no other way to make money isn't the way I'll play it.

Waiting for day of race offers isn't on my mind, thats not going to make or break the week by such a long stretch.

The idea that Envoi Allen is unbeatable on the day is just wrong as well.

Most likely winner? Fine.

Much better profit win bet on without Envoi on day than betting Ew now unless you think Envoi loses or doesn't turn up. Yes, I thought EA going Supreme last week on back of owner comments which is only natural but have moved on now and no damage done.

Think in this game when horses of his nature come along, from past experience you have to swallow your pride and except that the odds are against you in that he won't get beat. Of course, it's not guaranteed but ..

I'll be repeating myself but the are so many bumper horses that get hyped and never reach the top.

When you're so blinded by "the" hype horse there's just no value in it.

Horses like Might Bite and Cyrname pop into my head ... they were nowhere as bumper horses, they all improved at different times.

Altior was beaten in bumpers... way too much stock given to horses that win bumpers in general?

EA is just similar to Samcro, which is great and if you read my ante post stuff you'll see that I want him to win.... specifically this race.

...but you made a comment on another thread about not being a sheep? Envoi Allen is the biggest Shepherd in the field!

It's not just his Bumper form I'm going by. He just looks outstanding as a hurdler.

Agreed on EA being a better hurdler than bumper, but then that’s undeniable.

Agreed on this, I closed my account with them when they started limiting my bets to maximum units of 13p!

Turnpike Trip who ran well when 4th to Envoi Allen last time, tests that form in the Betfair Trophy Hurdle as Ireland's only representative.
