Im sure Mullins said they would be aiming at the Arkle with him but I can't find the exact quote billy, maybe someone else has it....

I was very happy with the way he jumped early on and obviously he made a mistake at the last but what particularly pleased me was the way he fought back when it looked like the game was up. He makes life difficult for himself but he fought back well today. I'd imagine the Arkle is the likely target. He could come back here for the Dublin Racing Festival and will need more experience - Willie Mullins, trainer of Melon
 
Anyone heard any updates on Laurina after bursting a blood vessel?

I’ve cashed out for what I can for the Arkle, then covered again at 28/1 at paddy power small stakes with power up.

Surely that’s a crazy price, or is there no chance they stick with the Arkle Route anymore?
 
Great thanks everyone, not sure i love his chances for this but at least sounds like he will give me a chance to get my money back and if he wins he would rescue my book for this race. Ive Notebook onside at 50's so either of them would do. Id almost given up on this race a week ago. Now at least a chance of getting out of the mess ive brought on myself, for trying to find things that werent there!!!
 
Does anyone else think Melon has notebook covered in regards to their respective races against Fakir?
 
Melon was giving him 8 pounds. How much was notebook giving him? Also jockey lost his irons on fakir against notebook.

Hard to factor the irons bit but Notebook gave Fakir 7lb, and a three length beating, and seemed to be holding it quite fine.
But Melon's Cheltenham form brings him right into it.
But the 13 fences in the arkle will play to Notebook's strengths also.
 
cant see how he'd have him covered tbh. Think Notebook is the real deal, and still value if you havent backed him. I'd be half inclined to look at the champion hurdle with Melon, given whats just happened with Klassical Dream

Haven’t heard anything but I’d be very surprised if she ran in this. Back hurdling or possibly even miss Cheltenham altogether now surely?

Hopefully stayers hurdle. Imo.
Could go for the mares but they've stormy ireland and I'm sure willie would be easily pleased to go elsewhere having BDD.

I’ve watched the race a few times now and Notebook jumps out to his right a fair amount. He got away with it but at Cheltenham in very fast run race he’ll have to be better than last time. Couldn’t have him myself and would fancy Fakir to reverse form. Melon is very interesting and is waaaayyyyyyyy overpriced.

noticed the jumping myself.
Have them all backed at big odds so happy if they fight finish out, although i'd prefer notebook

Hard to back her for anything with her bleeding, but think you mentioned you got a huge price which is fair play and obviously worth chancing.

Agree. Think if she goes to Cheltenham it'll be the Mares sadly knowing Mr M.

As she's a bleeder she's not of much interest to me really. Suppose they'll leave her off now + rock up somewhere fresh perhaps?
