Arkle 2019

....the going has to be a big negative for Lalor.

He was a grade 1 winner over hurdles on soft at Aintree and ran very respectably over hurdles on soft at Cheltenham, so i'd question it being a big negative.

It's so hard to imagine 3 horses coming up the hill STRONGER than Glen Forsa

5/1 is looking at me :( mocking me.

The Arkle is looking at me like :very_drunk: right now

I am soooo out of position it's unreal. I'll be the one cheering on SLATE HOUSE - I have no idea who my AP selection from the start of the season is still going with this one, it MUST be a sign!!!! :highly_amused:

have lalor @ 33-1 a long time ago. duke and paloma blue (whose jumping is guessy at the very least to be kind) are both fitting the profile that i like so think ive decided on duke and lalor. Palomas previous chelt hurdle form is nagging at me.

That assumes he will be in a position to mount a challenge. If he is taken out of his comfort zone chance might be long gone by that stage. First few fences crucial, particularly for him.

Like Hardline for this a lot, especially given forecast ground tomorrow. Just topped up again as think he’ll shorten. He’s 5/1 generally & SlyBet have a “W/o Glen Forsa” market where he’s priced at 7/2. That seems massive to me for him to be in the first 2, eselecially if his price shortens tomorrow with the rain forecast. Could even end up going off that price to win. To add to the case more, he’s got the best Cheltenham jockey on board in my opinion & a lot of the better jockeys aren’t in this, Ruby for one.

Yeah, good price in the without market... I could play at that :very_drunk:

I’ve settled on Hardline and Duc for this, just have a feeling the Irish form will be stronger than the UK and seen as I’m on course next two days couldn’t be chickening out and having no bet :highly_amused:

So far so good for Lalor as regards the ground. ..extremely windy here...overcast but only a bit of moisture in the air, and ground pretty much as advertised from the bit I've walked. Though it's early days as rain is moving this way according to forecasts.

Monsoon conditions now...ground changer...

And so it proved. A total disaster.

Glad I stuck a point on at 25s on DDG when the first weather forecasts were seen, but certainly wasn't a vintage arkle!
