Arkle 2018

Was just about to give everyone the head's up but Sportingbet have quickly realised their error and removed prices for tomorrow's Irish Arkle. I've just managed to get 20 quid on Footpad at 16/1 :). I think they got their race card order mixed up and the 16/1 should have been for Demi Sang, anyway the betslip clearly says Footpad 16/1. Does anyone have experience of this kind of mistake before, do you think they will try and cancel this bet before I think about laying some of it off?

Thanks Scooby good to know, is that likely to happen before or after the race do you think? Their website currently shows 16/1 into 8/15...haha

I think theyll send you an email. Check your current bet and see if it's still active.
Deffinately before the race.

The biggest surprise here is Sportingbet letting someone have £20 on anything... :highly_amused:

There is no way you'll get paid out at 16s unfortunately it's not that easy.
 
Yeah was hoping the 320 quid could be a 'parting of the ways' gift - I very rarely use them as can never remember my account details, made a special effort this morning. Anyway glad you guys have grounded me before I laid Footpad for a few quid on the exchange

I used to work for Sportingbet when it first started and Henry rix was one of the first clients, he wanted something like £40 ew on a horse and they closed his acc immediately:highly_amused:

On that evidence I think you would prefer Petit Mouchoir to Sceau Royal although that sort of pace might well help the King runner to pick up the pieces.

As for Footpad perhaps he might be better just sitting off the pace? Townend a little bit iffy at the last. Definitely asked him up off a poor stride and lesser horses might have been in trouble.

A decent win for Footpad but not totally conclusive.

I can certainly see why connections of PM would be happy with that, made a few early mistakes but the only one ot get close to Footpad and only 5 lengths off the winner.

That said regardless of the improvement you'd hope and expect to see from Petit Mouchoir next time out, I just think Footpad is on a different level and there was plenty more between the pair than the winning distance implied.

You can still get 15/2 for Petit Mouchoir though which is pretty crazy as I find it very hard to see him out of the frame.
 
I can't decide whether I'm happy or not with my ante post get on Footpad now! Brilliant round of jumping again bar the last and won cosily although PM made 2 mistakes and was only ridden out hands and heels to be within 5 lengths of FP. I suppose it all depends on how fit PM actually was today. Is FP ground dependent?

I think they'll finish 1 & 2 in the Arkle, just not sure in which order yet.
