April ‘26 Yankee courtesy of @Hurricane Fly

….fair point @The Tank, it’s not just his poor last two years, I just checked and I can’t see that Elliott has ever won a BANC.

I’ll keep Spinningayarn in my book but maybe not one for the Yankee.

One which looks way overpriced for me is White Noise in the Mares. Good winner of the Mares Novice Hurdle. 4/6 over Hurdles, 2nd and 3rd on other two runs. Step up in trip shouldn't be an issue as she's already won on Good to Soft at Market Rasen over 19f and wasn't stopping at the line at the Fez.
The horses ahead of her could fall away. Lossiemouth will surely go CH. BDA looks to be going chasing and is still a virgin anyway as Cheltenham. Interesting that Gordon may step Wodhooh up to 3m at Aintree. Win that and he may be tempted to go Stayers next year what with Teahupoo seemingly no longer good enough. He also has Outlaw as an able substitute for the Mares but she's already been turned over by WN. Jade De Grugy has had 2 trys and isn't getting any younger, Golden Ace may have had her day, Bambino blotted her copy book big time this year and Air of Entitlement is no better than a handicapper.

I just don't see why White Noise is currently 50/1 for the race unless of course I've missed some obvious trainer comments?

I agree. Do not understand why Oldschool Outlaw is 12/1 and White Noise is 50/1. Trainer snobbery me thinks. Thanks for highlighting.

Almost as if they've forgotten she won the MNH. Very odd unless of course we are missing something?

I was being harsh on Air of Entitlement. She of course won the MNH in 2025 and won the Pipe cosily off a big weight this year so she is definitely in the mix. Again, doesn't explain the price difference though.

Will give Mydaddypaddy a mention. Mentioned in the prices on offer thread but he looks a prime shortener over the summer and once stable tours begin. Just looking over the market:

Lossiemouth - rightful clear fav and certainly the most likely winner. Would be a bit of a joke if she didn’t defend her crown but the way Mullins operates and the way they acted around her participation this year just leaves a nagging doubt in the back of my mind that if certain things happen during the season they’d be happy to push her back to the Mares
Mydaddypaddy - improving novice with a very solid festival run, unlucky not to finish closer. Sounds as though he’s done for the season and a Champion Hurdle campaign has been mentioned by Skelton
King Rasko Grey - Mullins half mentioned CH after the race but i’ve seen people tipping from this race to the BANC so who knows. My early thoughts are the Supreme was a stronger race anyway, and it will be interesting to see how the form of each plays out
Old Park Star - chasing most likely
Narcisco Has - mentioned as a chaser all season
Sober Glory - sounds like chasing is more likely at this stage
Alexei - solid effort this year but he was well beaten in the end and is there much improvement left?
Kabral - chasing
The New Lion - step up in trip
State Man - will be 11 and returning from a full season out
Won’t go through them all but of the others Kawaboomga and William Munny I would want to see again.
Idaho Sun is interesting on a line though Mydaddypaddy and is one I’ll be backing, but I like the fact paddy has festival hurdles form in the book and i’d favour him at the moment. El Cairos also interesting but more a WTAF option, has a lot more to prove.

If we're looking at prices for April maybe Macho Man for the CH is worth a mention, form from his Auteuil race looks fair, decent on first start for Willie, was pulled up too early to draw any conclusions from his Triumph run but he is one I think could stay hurdling next season, if he turns up at Aintree or Punchestown and goes in, he'll be a lot shorter than the current 50/1 with Bet Victor, or 33/1 at Hills...just throwing this out there as I've also been looking at Forty Fifty coming back for the Supreme or Turners next season, 40/1 for either race with Skybet or P Power.

Cristal D'estruval is one I'll be keen on next season wherever he turns up, the form of his first hurdle start has worked out well, to beat older horses off level weights on his first rules start was quite impressive, second run was just a day out but he couldn't have done it any easier, long as the setback was nothing major he could be a right one to follow.

After yesterday's performance, he's on fire for the banc would be one i was interested in. Anyone got any thoughts on him ?

…glad I was on prior, i didn’t see yesterdays race but plenty seemed impressed & now a general 12-1 BANC.

Mullins said: “It was very impressive. He’s shown us at home that he was half-decent.

“He looks like a real chaser in the making, he has size and scope. He might just be another good horse for Rich and Susannah (Ricci).

“I’m sure he’ll have no trouble getting three miles over fences. I thought he jumped well enough, but the way he opened up from the second-last was ‘wow’, it was something else.

“We’ll have a look at the Grade One in Punchestown, but I’m looking forward to next year more than anything else, when he goes novice chasing. He was well named, I think.”

I listened to Mullins on RTE. He was not just surprised with the performance but extremely impressed about the distance put between the winner and his other runners, Love Me Tender particularly I believe he was referring to.

Yes, should have him in the Yankee for the BANC.

And do we get Soldier In Milan early doors for the GC next March, after yesterday's rout. I watched it again. Once the jockey had him in the front few horses, from the start, keeping him handy and trying to avoid trouble in the pack, his jumping was impressive. Like watching a seasoned grade one staying chaser.

I can see the angle but there wasn’t much in his form to suggest he was a G1 horse before yesterday.
Money came so maybe it was a season long plot to get in on 142, who knows, but for me I’d need to see him winning in open graded company….

Hes also trained by emmet so god knows how he will be campaigned

Probably be sold then aimed at the national would be my guess

Irish put him up 15 to 157 for yesterday
I’d say they’ll mind that and go for the English national next year off around 160 ish

Nowt to stop him running in gold cup though really
Not one I’d back right now though
Recency bias and all that
If they’re going to manage his mark then he’s unlikely to be winning many grade ones IMO
Thus his price likely bigger at some point

All this assumes they’re looking at the national though
And they might have other ideas

Probably go off favourite for the supreme knowing emmet

……not sure if Aintree threw up any candidates, maybe Zeus Power (Stayers) into a best 16-1 and Koktail Divin (Ryanair) also into 16-1 worthy of consideration.

The two horses I was most taken with were Zeus Power for the Stayers and Jonnys Jury for the BANC, he looks a future gold cup winner to me

……just checked Johnny’s Jury and he’s as low as 10-1 BANC with Hills, the 25s with Flutter Group is a stand-out, so I’ve taken that myself whilst it’s there (y) Not bad for AB winner.

Put your selections up whenever you wish, the timing is up to you. Obviously we have Punchestown Festival straddling the end of this month and the beginning of next which might be a factor or could inform the May discussion for @ComplyOrDie.

Ryanair is usually one of the easier races to take a view on but there's a lot of possibles this year. I'm actually looking m to avoid it for once at this stage.

Townend will look to create a good ride in it, be that either Kopek / Il Etait Temps going out in trip or Kitzbuhel / Final Demand coming down in trip.

Majborough the JP team may look at stepping up in trip and seeing if his jumping is any better. Especially if Fact to File was to go Gold Cup. If not then Fact to File be a huge player again, even as a 10 year old he'd be low mileage.

Lulamba would make sense to be mid trip as a six year old if they see him as a long term Gold Cup horse.

Grey Dawning I think Skelton has already sent won't run Gold Cup next year, so Ryanair seems a likely target.

Romeo Coolio looks a mid trip horse but I suspect he's just not actually good enough.

That's without mentioning this year's winner and probably a load of others I can't think of right now...

Nothing against Koktail Divin but once Nico has jumped off Lulamba he hasn't had to beat much at Aintree.
