Albert Bartlett 2019

They went an absolute crawl on debut tbf so he was never going to have much trouble travelling... I thought the most taking part of the performance was how he cleared away from the last and looked more about stamina than speed to me... but we all see things differently!

We will see tomorrow. Might even learn something In his blog. The likes of Mr whipped wouldn't have been under consideration for the tolworth. But nothing would suprise me this season. Have to admit I'd be dissapointed if he dosent win well and go ballymore.

He's deffinately not slow. 100%

slow in comparison I meant.
Don't look like they're training with the supreme or champion hurdle in mind, but he could look sharp tomorrow we'll see.
But They don't always look nippy coming up that straight

Whilst I take your point about them running two against each other plenty of times before, it just doesn't make sense to run two of their best staying novices against each other in the Ballymore and have nothing in the AB to me. Presumably Barry would be very keen to ride both of them if Birchdale is as good as we all hope and wins tomorrow. He has plenty of stamina in his breeding.

I don't see it, as I see birchdale better than champ. And I can't see champ moving from the ballymore. So personally I think both run. I dont see why you'd sent a horse like him to the bartlett for the sake of it.

Won a PTP over 3m

Imagine will go
Chasing at some point..Potential GC ?

JLT to beat the might samcro,
Battle over doyen for the RSA for me.

Birchdale is a powerful staying chaser but I agree Battleoverdoyen will be one of his main competitors.

Why the tolworth entry and up in the air whether to run him or rathhill. And if you look at the racecourse gallops he's 1 of 2 who is a companion to buveur dair

Surely they will send the better horse to the Ballymore. That's Champ.

I see Birchdale better than Champ too. And I agree I cant see Champ moving from the Ballymore. But I know Barry will have a big input into where these two run and Id be very surprised if he didnt want to ride both of them.

I don't think its sending him there 'for the sake of it'. The horse looked like a strong stayer last time, he's a 3m winning pointer, and has plenty of stamina in his breeding. Its not as if the AB wouldnt suit him in the slightest.

Anyway, I would say they dont even know themselves yet... we will learn a lot more tomorrow. But he's one of the novices Im most excited about.

Yep. I saw a stayer on his last run.
But that's not to say the ballymore is a no go.

It's funny how we see things differently, and by no means am I saying you are wrong, as still every chance, obviously, that you could be right, but I saw a turn of foot as opposed to a stayer, which indicates Ballymore all day long IMHO.

Sandown on Soft/Heavy can be won by a future stayer. I’m pretty sure the assistant trainer even said Birchdale is a 3 mile chaser too.

it's hard to be sure after one run, you may be right.
I think if rockpoint is anywhere near tomorrow then i'd say he's not that speedy.

Rockpoint isn't that speedy, that's why they put him up to 3m. I'll be surprised if he goes anywhere near close tomorrow. The AB may be a different story though.

i've heard the same, they think he's for next year which is why they may go bartlett, if he wins that it's a bonus.
But I can see the other side and he could look real good tomorrow.
He could also bomb like rathhill and we'll all stop talking about him for a bit.

No matter what he does tomorrow and what race he may or may not run at Cheltenham, I’m not going to back Birchdale until next season. I think, given his inexperience and the fact he’s a chaser, that they will go easy on him this season.

They did run both OK Corral and Santini in the AB last year so could well make sense if they see the horse as staying chaser for the future.

I think Champ is much the speedier of the two myself.

Interesting debate this one anyway.. will no doubt run and run all the way to March.

Just hope the horse delivers tomorrow.

And the joy of Bet365 and cashout means we can all be wrong and still be right :)

Thats exactly the take I have on it, but we could of course, be wrong.

In total contrast to rhat i think he hacks up here. And wins the ballymore.
I could look foolish. But iv not been more impressed by anything this season.
