Aintree 2025 Day 3

Hamsiyann declared for Saturday now too ? Also declared Friday. Was Jane’s handicap tip on old gold preview yesterday.

Looks like big gordo is testing the teahupoo is best fresh theory

Kitzbuhel is a fascinating rival up to 3 miles for the first time

Wonder whether he goes chasing or stays hurdling next season

Just noticed Ladbrokes have Kappa Jy Pyke at 33s can be boosted to 35s on the Saturday 1.55, obviously has to take on Lulamba but with Paul on board can't see him going off that price, probably nothing more than a value loser but had a small play e/w

….in his pre-season Stable Tour Fergal O’Brien said Kamsinas could be this seasons Crambo. I backed him first time out at Aintree and he obliged nicely at 8-1 over 2m 4f. His first try over 3m was at the beginning of last month when he gave lumps of weight away but still finished a close 2nd at Doncaster. O’Brien comparing him to Crambo suggests staying is his game and he runs in the opener tomorrow.

Gwennie May Boy was clearly chucked in last year and maybe there’s a lurker at the weights but he’s of e/w interest tomorrow at a course and on a surface he clearly likes.

Not as many plays tomorrow, worst days racing at Aintree festival I always feel the Saturday.

Lulamba 11/2
Stumptown 11/1, 23/1
Intense Raffles 40/1

Likely add one more for the national but will have a look tomorrow.

….16-1 best now, looks a good call regarding price.

Is Teahupoo at 11/4 not a gift from the gods? A full
point bigger than what he was at Cheltenham and he was a long way clear of third. The defeat to Lossie over 2.4f reads pretty well aswell.

If the gap between the races was another 2 or 3 weeks then yes

If he runs like he did at Cheltenham he will make a mockery of that price

He'd be evs surely if he didn't have the best fresh tag

He could make a mockery of that price

But he did probably have a hard race at Cheltenham. Im umming and arring myself.

He's the only horse i fancy tomorrow. The other races are just not for me. Always the same on the Saturday of Aintree.

when I sober up tomorrow il likely back him, won't be letting 7 beers deep me make any decisions.

I’m not so sure when you’ve fresh horses as well. Also look what Lossie did to him on decent ground, was a no contest. Appreciate there’s another half mile here but I’d be staying clear. Think it’s a very open race where anything could win imo.

Its not like willie mullins to be throwing a 5 year old into a 3 mile race, leaping from 2 miles makes it even more un willie like. I think you have to take notice of that with Kitzbuhel. Although I fancy the wallpark in the race too its a head scratcher. Im also going to play a variation of low stakes tri-casts in the novices hurdle with Lulamba, kappa, funiculi.

Day 3:

Catch Him Derry 15/2 / Bo Zenith 14/1
Lulamba 5/4
The Wallpark 9/1 / Home By The Lee 13/2
I Am Maximus 12/1 & 11/1 / Vanillier 14/1/ Duffle Coat 66/1 / Idas Boy 180/1
Kalif Du Berlais 9/2

….El Cairos a NR in bumper.

1.20 Act of Authority 8/1 / Kamsinas 16/1 ew

1.55 Kappa JT Pyke 8/1 ew

2.30 Imperial Saint 6/1

3.05 Strong Leader 6/1 ew

Best bet of today is Happgolucky.
Looked in cracking form at cheltenham and the last time he ran well in the Ultima he followed up here easily.
The race looks much more winnable than the ultima and he;s been dropped a pound.
He'll be much more likely to finish his race off well today on the better ground.
Even at 11 he's probably a bot quicker than most of these.
Had a saver on the fav.

Intense raffles at 18-1 on betfair is the best value bet today I reckon for the big one.
The other bookie markets are shocking today.
Got a team of about 8 but no doubt the best winner is Meetingofthewaters.

Backed Ruchmount other day at 20-1 ew, and park of kings at 16-1 - Rule 4's on these and both still look reasonable prices in that race.

The novice hurdle is fucking wank. Gone off Horaces.
Had a bet on Koktail other day but this race is wank like i said and so is the maghull.

Strong Leader and Kitzbuhel ought to be fighting out the finish in the stayers.
Backed strong leader but saver on Kitzbuhel.

That novice hurdle might be the worst grade 1 of all time

Not backing teahupoo. If the ground is quick enough for nicky to pull everything im happy to let him win with no money on. Though i suspect gordon may pull him after the first race after speaking to danny gilligan.

Docpickedme in the 3m handicap chase. Hopefully gets out in front and he'll take some stopping.

Kitzbuhel in the 3m grade 1 - Strong Leader been poor last twice but I'd expect him to place.

Intense Raffles and Minella Cocooner in the GN. I don't think the ground will be an issue with Intense Raffles and the Irish National is a good pointer to this. Not sure why Danny isn't in MC but Burke is ok and this should be to his liking.

These grade 1 novice events have been extremely poor this year. Only the 2m novice hurdle and 2m4 novice chase I'd say was grade 1 class. Juvenile hurdle was a grade 3 at best, today's 2m4 would be similar at best. They do need to look at the gap between Cheltenham and Aintree but the British horses just aren't good enough to have this many grade 1s in a short period of time. Arguably the Irish aren't much better outside of Mullins though.

I'd be against him just because of the going, on soft / heavy he is 8 from 8, on good - good to soft he is 2 wins 4 places from 9, both wins came on good to soft as on good he is 0 wins 1 place from 2, he should strip fitter for the cheltenham run, just for me he's the best of a poor bunch of stayers and there's a few here who could be better suited to conditions, 10/3 now seems a reasonable price for the risk involved.
Best of lcuk if you go in on him.
