2026 Ultima Handicap

I'd be thinking along those lines with Western Knight - best run over hurdles was 3m round Cheltenham, and Tizzard has used the Reynoldstown as an Ultima prep for The Changing Man and Oscar Elite in the last few years. Does lack experience in big field handicaps mind.
Yep, a similar case could've been made for plenty who were entered for the Reynoldstown with similar profiles. Both Crest Of Fortune and Western Knight have been declared, which is a good first step.

I just think I'm drawn to Crest Of Fortune's form a bit more. That Aintree run in the Sefton (with Western Knight a way back), his chase debut at Cheltenham over an inadequate trip... with them virtually rated the same, I'd slightly lean his way. Will make for interesting viewing on Saturday now either way.

He probably doesn't need to win today though does he? Already rated higher than Myretown was at Cheltenham. Pretty weak race all the same today.

Yep, very good point. 4th run the most important thing. Jump clean and a nice 2nd or 3rd. I should have waited as his price will likely be pushed out straight after the race. Can't risk it though.

Looked good, similar performance to Myretown the previous season, a live one!
One of the many reasons why I come on here

Little nugget’s of information and informed opinion

However, missed opportunity I feel, should of been the niaid

Ultima aswell

Managed to snaffle 25/1 with PP’s antepost market, risky being ante but he looked to have plenty left up his sleeve, hopefully handicapper doesn’t hammer him too much.

Myretown won that same race last season by 9 1/2 lengths and got 4lbs, hopefully something similar would be good.

….365 cut King of Answers to a best 16-1 NRNB.

I suppose the 40-1 TWAF was ok after all.

He did that really well and looked to have saved a bit as well. Lucinda horses hitting form at the right time. Thats 2 wins and 4 2nds from last 13 runners.

Yep, lows of 12's so that 16's may not last especially if Myretown wins tomorrow.

was getting 7lb off the second and best him 8 lengths.
Should be no more than 4lbish I'd think
Issue with this one might be him going for the NH chase instead.
But hopefully not.

Owners mentioned Cheltenham and Ultima before his last run and the fact he'd need to get 1 more in so you have to think that is the target.

Good point Q. If Myretown doesn't come up to scratch tomorrow or the meeting doesn't go ahead they may well split them that way. Myretown got 4lbs for similar win last year.

4lbs would be good, hope they rate the race as you have above and don’t use Myretown’s subsequent Ultima romp to add a few more lbs..

Regarding splitting them, ran two novices in the Ultima last year (and none in the NHC) so hopefully KOA goes Ultima, even if Myretown also ends up targeting it - two darts at a race they appear to love.

Yep, I'd hope Ultima and they know what it takes obviously.
6-8lb would not be the end of the world either.

They must also feel like it's a lucky race for them.
The 18-1 WH special NRNB for ultima is worth taking for anyone not already on as if he lines up he's single figures for obvious reasons.

I’m on king of answers too, and was impressed. One thing to note is that he was dismounted straight after the line. I thought he idled badly the last 50 yards, but not sure if he pulled something? Hope he’s fine and dandy.

Hopefully just tired in that ground, and jockey doing the right thing.
