2026 Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle

The last 10 winners of the Pertemps Final finished in the following positions in their qualifier (most recent first): 2, 4, 3, 3, 4, 4, 6, 3, 4, 3.

Was it last year or the year before it went from top six to top four? Reckon that could influence those stats. Bit easier to hide in fourth when you know top six get in... Wouldn't let that stat put me off any to be honest.

There's a couple at either end of the weights here that won qualifiers and are still interesting imo

They had to too, qualifiers were becoming a joke, 7/8/9 runner affairs and top 6 qualify, was basically a schooling session.
I still refuse to bet in qualifiers and courses have cottoned on too, many are now scheduled at the arse end of a card and rarely on TV...

Actually think they're quite good betting races. You know which ones generally need to win to get the weight for the final and you can rule out a few that don't want to win...

Good top 4 markets as well usually.

Surely that only applies to the late season qualifiers ?
The ones in the Autumn are so early there's stacks of time for marks to move up/down...

Yea, you're more top 4 bets early season. Then looking at win markets later on.

They actually offer decent enough prize money for the qualifiers as well. So those that wouldn't really fancy it in the final is another consideration.

Pertemps qualifiers probably one of my more successful angles this season to be honest :LOL:

Post Cheltenham I might do some work on how many winners actually take up the final engagement or whether they're doing what you imply, try to win and claim some decent money that might not be available from other races around that time...

Afternoon Gents, sorry to mix Thursdays races in the middle of Wednesday’s action. Am I being blind - any horses wearing a tongue tie tomorrow? Have been up and down the race card but struggling to see any equipment listing a (t)

None. Brian had a tweet about it as it’s the main stat I think for the race.
