2026 Novice Hurdlers

Talk the talk seems a fair price for this at 5/1. Grade one winner (would have been two if didn't stack it at last), came from way back in a steady run race in the mud last time.
Must have a great chance

Nothing to lay for Ballyfad at the moment

I hate watching the exchanges

On paper this is the best Supreme for many a year. Absolutely can't wait. Might just be one to watch and savour, rather than having a bet

More than happy to go to war with old park star and talk the talk

If el cairos or mighty park win il just shrug my shoulders and move on.

I just keep cycling through the front 4. They’ve all got a smashing chance. I’m putting a tentative line through TTT and Mighty Park though. And just siding with OPS.

The former, it just strikes me that he had as much or little go wrong at the DRF as the other three. And he did only just get there after all! Beating Koktail Brut 6 lengths, who would’ve absolutely hated that slow pace, isn’t fantastic form. He came into the race very fit too. I’ll probably have a little double on him and Ballyfad, just it case.

The latter is a once run horse . He was 16/1 after the race too. It’s the chatter that’s backed him in to 2nd fav. The yard aren’t often wrong, but there’s normally more substance, like there was with IEP. Of course he could win, but where there is plenty with form in the book, I’ll let him run.

El Cairos has beaten nothing too (well nothing trying anyway). I can take or leave the Leopardstown run. Yes it was impressive, but those in behind have proven to be slow beasts. The way he came back on the bridle after making a high speed mistake at Thurles though … that was unbelievable. He was a good horse last year but with a jockey, and perhaps more importantly, a trainer upgrade, I can see him going close. My two concerns are how he’ll fair off a break neck speed, which I think this could be, and how he’ll handle the longer run in. It could run the finish out of him. 8/1 seems fair.

I think OPS is the one though. Nicky talking very cautiously about him, saying he’s not an Altior or Con Hill who he couldn’t see beaten. But I don’t recall him being that bullish before either ran. More to the point, Altior went off 4/1 2nd fav and Con Hill 9/4 JF. So hardly backed off the boards.

People cribbing the form on the preview circuit. Hurricane Pat is no mug and just couldn’t live with him. He’s such a straightforward horse as well. Looks like he’ll be in the van, happy to lead, but doesn’t need to. Form on GS too. Perfect.

I think he could be a superstar and it’s staring us in the face.

I put TTT up on the competition just from a price point of view (he should be clear 2nd fav at least on form) but OPS was hugely impressive at Haydock. At the time I said he impressed me more than any other horse I’ve seen in that race, including Peddlers Cross and Neon Wolf.

TTT may be suited ordinarily riding off the likely high pace but looking back at previous Supremes, those horses just get ridden out of it when you’ve got a decent one near the front. You usually want to be near the front and with 4 furlongs to go, the race can be gone from those in behind when the going is decent. OPS has proven he can travel and jump downhill in that key section so no unknown there.

2025 - KDB in 3rd throughout and beat William Munny who was further back.

2024 - Slade Steel won a very poor renewal but beat Mystical Power who was held up. SS was 3rd throughout.

2023 - Marine Nationale won. He was mid division but those up front were poor. FV was only slightly ahead of MN, Diverge was 3rd in the rear and Inthepocket was in a similar position to MN.

2022 - Constitution Hill up the front

2021 - Appreciate It up the front.

2020 - Shishkin mid division with Abacadabras but with Asterion Forlonge at the front that was for the best.

2019 - Klassical Dream from the front

It looks a very good Supreme based on potential but there’s 2 horses who have shown much the best on the track. El Cairos looked good at Leopardstown before falling but that maiden was rancid and the other race he won was no better. Mighty Park is taking a massive step up and jogging round at sub 30mph is a world away from the Supreme.

Old Park Star is shite - didn't win a bumper?

Talk The Talk is just than, TALK

Mighty Park beat trees and is over hyped for Mullins

El Cairos is a David maxwell reject

Mydaddypaddy has already floppped

Leader d'Allier is 12/1 and has Paul Townend on so clearly Willie's bunch are shite

Sober Glory is trained by Philip Hobbs

Baron Noir is trained by Alan King

Eachtotheirown - Barry hasn't told us he wins, so he doesn't win

Too Bossy For Us - Willie cares so little he's booked an English jockey instead of a family member

Koktail Brut (2nd) and Sageborough (1st) - FORECAST - NAP

Yeah, 5/1 (or 9/2 4 places) is just looking a knocking good EW bet isn't it

If I was coming in fresh, I'd be backing TTT e/w as a bit of a bet to nothing

My post above is a joke of course 🫣
