2026 Novice Hurdlers

Long time lurker. First time poster. Just back from Haydock today and FWIW, they interviewed Jacob who said Talk The Talk will be going Supreme, not Turners 👍
Welcome to the forum good and proper! He seems to have been banging that drum hard of late. Let’s hope he’s right and serves it up to hendo and Willie in the first!

Thankyou. Here's hoping 🤞. Dont profess to know half the stuff a lot of you guys do, but I'm not wet behind the ears so hopefully can add something 😂. Jacob also said his surefire double was Bambino and Fact to File (Ryanair). Hardly groundbreaking news.

I just make it up, and then go back after the fact and edit my posts

lol Jacob surefire double lol

Think recent weeks are a good lesson that every exchange move is not gospel and, for the most part, NKFA.

Makes for a brilliant supreme mind

Thats what it’s all about, game of opinions mate….throw enough out and some have to be right 😂😂 hoping he’s wrong about bambino, I’m balls deep on old school in that race, hoping the wild drifts on the exchange are nothing more than silly buggers playing games

This might be a slightly mad bet, but a horse I am convinced is way overpriced in the Supreme is Koktail Brut. The Royal Bond winner. He was the horse who was most inconvenienced by the dawdle at the DRF. As soon as they get going round the turn for home, he’s off the bridle. He simply doesn't have that kick. I wasn’t expecting him to be sighted, but he’s only lost by 6 lengths and, arguably, he’s going as well as the front three when they hit the line.

The Supreme is guaranteed to have pace. Sober Glory, OPS, and maybe even Mighty Park, can’t let it turn into a dawdle. And when has the Supreme ever been a dawdle. That will suit Koktail Brut’s diesel engine. He’ll be outpaced as the roll down the hill as he doesn’t have the acceleration but I think he’ll come up the hill better than most. If he’s anywhere near in touch, he’ll have a smashing chance of placing.

The bet probably relies on the race being deep, rather than high quality, as he’s unlikely to run much better than 150. But there is a chance that is the case.

People have been looking for an Al Ferof type, and he could be it. At 100/1, the place part will at least be in play.

Gordon mentioned him on Priced Up's preview, talked about how he bleed at xmas, said has a chance 66/1 each way

….maybe more suited to Turners?

Gordon has suggested that this is his destination on the Priced Up preview. It makes sense given that he's his only real entry here, Ballyfad having been confirmed for the Turners, and him also having Road Exile and Riskaway in there.

All over the place. Don’t think it’s significant. Don’t think we’ll find out until Sunday

PAUL NICHOLLS

NO DRAMA THIS END (Turners Novices’ Hurdle)

“He has advertised his own chances to be honest with you when you look at his form. There are loads of Irish battalions coming over we don’t really know about, but we think he has a lovely chance.

“He does things on the bridle all the time and you wouldn’t know what is in the locker.

"He has been working really nicely and we have given him an away day in Lambourn and at Kempton Park. He is definitely the leading British challenger in the race.”

….Pauling;

MONDOUI’ BOY

“He won an egg and spoon race at Ludlow and then he beat a nice enough bunch at Ascot, but he won very well that day.

“I think he will improve for the step up in trip to three miles and he seems in particularly good order.

"It looks a pretty open race and I think he is a good each-way bet.”

NICKY HENDERSON

ACT OF INNOCENCE

“He was very good in the Sidney Banks at Huntingdon. I think he is pretty smart and he is a lovely horse. Of course the two miles and five furlongs around here is different to two and a half miles around Huntingdon, but we found plenty out that day.

"He stays two and a half miles around Huntingdon, but I would be surprised if stamina is an issue here.
