2026 Novice Hurdlers

150 wins most supremes I’d say!
Beatable at the same time though too, if there's a machine somewhere around in ireland. And if your backing something like fou de toi or mighty park, or el cairos, that's the hope, that theyre the next kopek/douvan/vautour etc. And if they are, then they have every chance.

He's obviously improving with every run, but worth remembering that was his sixth run. Kopek recorded a higher rpr last year on only his third run, and even then william munny was still able to come through and give him something to think about. He beat karniquet by 13l on the bridle, who went on to finish the season rated 146 and ran well in the supreme himself. Old park star has beaten 136 rated hurricane pat by 18l ridden out, and I wouldn't be that confident hurricane pat will improve a lot or would run as well as karniquet in a supreme.

I'm sure those aren't groundbreaking thoughts though. He obviously sets a good standard, but still a beatable one imo if there's another top notcher in ireland.

Of course he’s beatable at this stage, and imo both El C and TTT could prove to be capable.
I’d say they are the only Irish ones I’ve seen.
Still interested to see Mossy again.
Any of those will have to be bloody good though!!

Still a few from mullins that could be anything too. If fou de toi is a proper one, it wouldn't bother me at all only having one run. We saw what kopek was able to do at the drf after only one hurdle run.

Main reason for my post was just seeing a few people on here and twitter seeming to think he'll take a world of beating and backing him at 2/1-9/4. Imo what kopek did at the drf was more freakish than what old park star has done so far, and he was still available at evens or a bit higher on the week of the festival last year. So 2/1 ante post on old park star would be of no appeal to me.

Is Act Of Innocence one that shows more at home than at the track, owner seems to think he theres nothing between him an Old Park Star.

Minella Yoga a fair animal but getting touched off at 2/7 can't seem AOI as a festival bet.

Oh absolutely. He sets the current standard but won’t be backing at that price, fair play to all those on at bigger. I too am hoping one of the Irish will put up a show soon (pocket talk obviously) Talking of Fou de toi, wasn’t he supposed to be running tomorrow? But no declaration. Any idea on whether he’s still alive or where likely to run? Running out of time with him.

Apparently there is a maiden the week after the DRF he could run in...

He was supposed to be getting entered tomorrow for a run at the weekend...

….P Mullins re Espresso Milan;

He said: "I think he did well to win his maiden hurdle when a lot of ours weren't winning. I'm not sure the bare form of the race on Sunday is anything to write home about, albeit the second is a solid horse. But I think Paul (Townend) liked him, he was impressed and he was plenty keen early on, he made one or two mistakes so I still think there's plenty of room for improvement in him when he learns to race and jump more efficiently.

"He just could be one that is flying under the radar. That race I think Monkfish might have won it on his way to the Albert Bartlett and Espresso Milan is one that's improving all the time and to me looks like there's even more to come."

What are we expecting from Bud Fox tomorrow in the opening race (hurdle) at Down Royal, especially when considering he was supposedly keeping to bumpers this season?

Not too much. Cromwell yard still seem to be struggling. 0/37 in last 14 days and a 28% Run To Form.

Fou De Toi is still confounding everyone at Closutton, he's a mystery wrapped in an enigma with 4 legs, although we can't be sure about the 4 legs at this point.
Held back for another season then?? He'll be 10 when he makes his debut!!😂

Well, we’ll find out soon enough.
Looking forward to seeing DDM out again at DFR. I’ve not given up on him and with a longer trip and some improvement he might just top the turners market again 😉

Is he definitely going to that G1, as a maiden?

Not Willies MO is it
