2026 Novice Hurdlers

Old Park Star looked more of a galloper to my eye but Nicky has won the supreme with similar types before (e.g. Shiskin). I'd be worried about his record in the Ballymore though, it's rancid

Keeping a very close eye on the market today for LARZAC.

Thought he'd make up into a proper novice this year, but interesting Willie pitched him in top company last season for a bit of experience. Said to have strengthened up very well over the summer, see how he goes today. I backed him at 10/3 last night for today, currently 2s best right now. That could well be 6/4 or 6/1 come race time though with these connections.

Handicap here we come!

Could quite easily be couldnt he

Would still want to be going close today though, or he won't get in :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

3 runs already, only two needed!

Could win today and next time out and still be plenty well in IF good enough.

Was smashed up in both runs last season, probably 'by design' :ROFLMAO:

Willie said as much in his stable tour. Unusual for him to literally come out and say it.

@Carnage at Taunton I think this is where Impaire Et Passe debuted, so not entirely without legitimacy as a starting place for Willie's better ones. Perhaps more notably in the context of the above, it's also where Quai De Bourbon started out for Willie ...

Where do we expect to see Bambino Fever at the festival?

I know WPM mentioned potentially against the boys but I just can’t see it myself. For all she was a really good bumper horse last season, I’d be surprised if WPM doesn’t have one better over hurdles for the Supreme and Ballymore. Coupled with the fact he’ll want to win the easiest race with her which would be against her own sex. We tend to see bumper horses/winners end up over further as well so the new course could be a course suited to her better as well.

She wins today she’ll go silly short for the mares and no doubt be cut to single digits or thereabouts (depending on manner of victory) in the Supreme.

With what it 'looks' like Willie has this season

I'd be gobsmacked if she's anywhere but the MNH.

….i took 40-1 WTAF (CB/MNH) offer so obviously hoping she does well and goes that route but it’ll probably be a guessing game.

He has no problem ducking the holy grail of the champion hurdle to go for the mares, so he'll have no problem ducking the supreme for the mares novice.

The only way I see her taking on the boys is the unlikely scenario where bambino and something else (venussiene, la Valserine etc) are both very good and either one would go off strong fave in the mares novice, and simultaneously none of his novice geldings are up to much. In which case it might make sense to split them.

Running her today instead of waiting for Christmas would give her the option of the Solerina in January. You would imagine if she ran there it would be the mares race

…..Hills push Bambino out 6-1 MNH, 20-1 available Supreme.

Even accounting for race fitness you would have to be slightly underwhelmed imo?!

Elliotts mare did win a listed bumper last month so had race fitness.

Yeah you'd say that has nailed on the Mares Novice Hurdle route, if it wasn't already. She'd be hard pressed to make the DRF now if shedding her maiden tag first.
