2026 Novice Chasers

I found my success rate improved when I started to follow hard rules

For example:

- Do not back horses who’s season has been interrupted due to injury/set back

- Do not back horses that have very limited form to go off, or have only raced once before the festival. Rule applies even more for novice chasers

Kopek falls into both of these, and so does Mighty Park

If they win, they win.

Also not backing horses with previous injury problems

Irish Arkle into a BANC

Even if he does go that way, I couldn't have him at all off the back of that prep

Ground related surely
Yep, no idea how liquid betfair is but been backed and bookies squeezing him also.
Would not have him at 5-1 myself.
Looks an awful price.

Me either, though on this ground I think i would like to see him try. Can’t have him winning the arkle on this ground.

Final Demand, spring ground? Or am I clutching at straws 😅

Wouldn't back him now but 'that' double with Kopek, first bet placed last season for me. Looks like will get a run for my money at least.

On same bet, all seemed so simple earlier in season, kopek wins, Final demand is well odds on and then lay some off. Best laid plans!

Surprised fat man hasn't convinced the owners to wait for Fairyhouse given the trainers title. But suppose they want Chelt runners and I don't think they'll have another horse entered across the week.

I've got them both in a nice trixie with Maj at 8's. I just can't see it now though.

Western Fold looks pretty weak on the exchange. I always thought that Western Fold going to the Brown Advisory was helpful in terms of Romeo Coolio going to the Arkle where I have backed him as a relative certainty to place all season. Also had a nice position on Western Fold. Uh oh!

Also nothing on the lay side for Final Demand, again.
