2026 Novice Chasers

Kopek is one of my best winners of the week and tbh I’d still fancy him off the back of one run, but the mixed messages over the past few weeks and those comments would hardly make you confident in him actually making the race.

I have Romeo covered at bigger prices but feel like I’m going to need to have a closer look at getting Lulamba/Kargese onside now.

It was pretty obvious all along wasn't it ?? Odds told the story.

Lulamba has to be a strong fav now

Only Well Chief and 'he who shall not be named' has won the Arkle after just one chase start, both trained by the Pipes and made their chase debuts in the New Year.

Would think so.
Guess it depends on his run at Newbury(or Warwick).
If that went well he would then have had 3 runs with the experience that brings as opposed to one run for Kopek.
Don’t mean the result is determined but fav will be imo.

Swerving the DFR as don't want to put him under the pump on his next start, with all respects they could've ran and just if he wasn't going to win just take it steady on him, I'm not saying don't be trying, just you don't need to knock lumps off them "on that ground on his first start back from an operation", everyone would get it makes sense, least then the trainer has seen what they've got to work with & the horse has that bit more experience he'll be needing for march, swerving the race alltogether..hmmm.

Expecting Wendigo to win by double digits in the next at Ayr.

Yes, he has to give 6lbs, but he's rated 12lbs higher than his nearest rival, and the pair of rivals are both drawing their pensions.

Looks a simple enough prep, should leave him spot on for march.

Just what you'd want to be seeing, and plenty left in the tank too 🙌

I'd get some cheekpieces on for the festival, bit of a lazy bugga, he's more nimble at his fences than I thought, met a couple not on a stride but still got over without touching a twig, more importantly landed running, the faster pace will be good for him, but I'd 100% get a big old furry pair on his head, keep him on the job, plenty to distract them at Cheltenham.

Was just coming on to moan about the state of British racing with only 4 declared for the Scilly Isles and 2 of those from Ireland. But then I saw the Irish Arkle decs .................. very disappointing

If punters think Kutzbuhel could be a threat to Final Demand in the BANC, if he gets beaten by Kala Conti , as I fully expect, does she then become a big BANC threat ???

Difficult cos it’s not 3m.
Imo as long as Kitz runs a similar race as he has been this season I would be happy as a backer for the BANC.
KC wins and finishes strongly she would have to be taken seriously for sure imo.

Best check out the exchange if you like KC.

Mares chase for me. She’s not been further than 2m5 to date, and predominantly been kept to shorter. Not saying she couldn’t win the BANC, but think her chance is much better in the mares. Scilly isles should be good though as kitz looks like a quick enough type.
