2026 Novice Chasers

Anyone keen on jimmy de seuil for the BANC?. Posted same rpr as final demand. at 10x the odds looks worth covering.
Was terrible last race. Never went a yard. I know the ground was deep but he's won on Heavy and you'd expect better than that from him.

He's my biggest winner in the race but you've got to completely write off that Faugheen run haven't you.

See if he turns up DRF, although I'll probably try to change my position before that either way.

Course / festival form and a decent start over fences are his positives. Actually expected him to go well last time out but he was awful. Few of Willie's weren't running great at that time, but that does just suit...

He’s worth another go. Horses don’t become crap overnight. And small horses may cope with heavy over hurdles, but not over fences.
I’d hope he’s go to DRF and show where he’s at. If kitzbuhel, the big westerner, Gordon’s horse and kaid d’authie turn up, it’ll be some race. Final demand won’t have it all his own way😉

He is very low over his fences which just doesn't strike me as a BANC winner who are normally big and bold jumpers. He is surely always going to be prone to gradually having the stuffing knocked out of him.

Looks like Lulamba going to Newbury for the Game Spirit 7th feb
Nice. Glad he's having another run. Sometimes that race looks more winnable than the Warwick Novice Chase. Looking forward to seeing him again. He was stunning last time. Blew me away.

Will it matter where Romeo goes this season?

I think it's been pretty obvious he'll be best suited to the mid trips, so the Ryanair will be his target next season.

If he picks up an Arkle/BANC on the way that will be a bonus, I think.
Good post.

I dont know if anyone in here specifically said it, but i wouldn't be surprised if a few who were crying about Impaire es passe skipping cheltenham due to the distance. But yet questioning why Romeo isnt doing the same.

Tbf you could argue IEP is similar and connections got it right (twice) going onto Aintree and the mid distance. But we will never know for definite if wouldn't have won at Cheltenham those years...

Stating the obvious it's clear to many if the old mid distance (not handicap, JLT or whatever it was called) was still there RC would be fav or up there for it, I see no issue with owners/connections wanting a runner at the fez personally. The amount of negative posts around him now is tiring and I might be petty but want him to win even more now 😂 (then go on to Ryanair next season)

Festival form and the rpr ‘should ‘ put him up there. I agree about the faugheen run . Has anything come to light as to why ? I was away most dec unfortunately missed most the racing

The hislop flip flop is working it’s magic!!
People can’t get enough of kopek for the Irish arkle and arkle now. She does it every year with her comments on RTV

That novice chase at the DRF gonna be a cracker - Im convinced Kitzbuhel has as much class as Final Demand - the way he travels, jumps and finishes so far has passed my eye test - possibly pocket talk as well

Over 2m 5f and if the ground is on the Good side of Soft I can see Kitzbuhel possibly having too much pace for Final Demand.

Hoping Hobbs can get a "staying on late for the minor money" 4th run into Thomas Mor to set him up for a shot at the Ultima

Coolio and Western Fold.....

Coolio...“He’s a great horse, he’s won two Grade Ones already this season. He’s in both races at the DRF, the two-miler and over two-five, I’m under no pressure and we’ll leave the decision late,” said Elliott.

Western Fold is another entered in the two-mile-five race.

“He’s a very highly-rated novice. He’s had a good break and if you look back at his run at Down Royal (just behind Affordale Fury), for a novice that’s good form,” said the Cullentra handler.

Western Fold for the Ultima Gordo, second season novice, stacks of experience, quiet run next weekend and hope the uk handicapper gives you a decent mark.

Sounds like Romeo might not turn up for DFR??
