2026 Novice Chasers

Morning guys. It’s been a while!

I’m told by one of the Syndicate guys that the Ryanair is the most likely destination even though he’s a novice.

I wasn’t keen on the idea initially, but one look at the Ryanair market, and looking at what won’t or is unlikely to run in the race it actually makes sense. You can see why they’d lean that way.

Good, cos someone took the 50's on betfair. 👍
worth trying cos someone clearly don't agree.

For what it’s worth, I’ve heard present thinking is the Arkle, and nothing else is being considered.

Just what I did not want to be reading 😆
Get him covered then I think.
Much appreciated Spectre.

I thought no chance it would run in the Ryanair and after hearing Johnny last night on up the ante seems he thinks the same , it will probably get softish ground on day one so I’m pretty sure it will go in the arkle

I'd agree.
The Ryanair only comes into play depending on how competitive the both races look and the ground on day one. Which will almost certainly be soft enough.
I think though that Gordon would not be against running in the Ryanair if it looked a weak renewal for some reason, and the arkle still has 2 strong favourites.

Wouldn’t be the first time a horse had more than one entries and the ground decides
Could well be the case with Romeo

Keeping an eye on the Ryanair entries makes sense

Slade Steel getting brought down then was annoying.
I've got a mental block on him being a real contender for the BANC.
A win today and he'd have gone straight there I reckon.
Might run in another beginners now I suppose.
His form is really good considering how gentle Henry is with his novice chasers, and his jumping is getting better all the time

Remember everyone thought I was crazy last season putting Slade Steel up for the BANC ....'how could a Supreme winner possibly go for that race?'.......

Funny old game Saint.

Latest on Romeo Coolio from Gordon today @ Punchestown

Gordon going to wait see what the fields are looking like before committing to a race at the DRF for Romeo Coolio

'I wouldn't be worried going further with him, he hit the line strong in leopardstown'

So he's running at DRF? Didn't he say straight to Cheltenham the other day.

Gordon being Gordon, but i think on this occasion he is trying to worry the opposition.

Wendigo is 12/1 in Hills TWAR market if that helps.

I've taken the 10/1 TWAR price about his Worcester conqueror Wade Out as connections have name checked the NHC for him. Reckon he'll go off close to fav for the race if he lines up.
Don’t think he will beat final demand but can see it placed Lobos

Nor me. Won't be backing anything against that beast
Is he a beast? Is Cheltenham his track?

Is beating Gold Dancer a few lengths beastesque? Is losing to yellow clay and the new lion at his only run at hq beastesque?

Most likely winner for sure, but not what I’d call bulletproof.
