2026 Novice Chasers

His best form over fences is over 2 and a half, both times impressive, and not stopping.
I don’t know if he will have another run before March but I’m thinking GE intimated he would? by saying he’s stepping him up next time.
If not, having proved he’s good over 2 and a half, I’d be ok if he went straight to the BANC as a backer,i have faith in a trainer that knows his Chasers pretty well.

The post above with the owners quotes in suggested no more runs before the festival... I think.

It's likely to be soft for the first race though

By that quote, I'd presume he means proper soft.

Not the shite they spurt out on the first day

12/1 PP BANC is an absolute standout and must

Even to lay off as a free bet

He'd surely be no bigger than 7/2 come the day
Not sure what price he would go off on the day, but I do know his form is closely matched with the current even money fav, if you take Gold Dancer as a guide.
Both yet to go 3m so bit of unknown there for them.
Be interesting when nrnb prices appear.

NRNB price I suspect wouldn't be much above 3/1 tbh

NRMB punting is generally pointless and you'll generally get bigger on the day. The literal point of antepost punting is predicting what will and won't run so you can beat SP. NRMB just removes any of that

I’m ok with Coolio tried over 2m and going straight to BANC. He nearly got beat over that distance and was more comfortable with running over middle distance. Horses tend to improve stepping up in trip, not down

Good to soft ground Fez, and I’ll looking at those that have ran at middle distance over those who have been campaigned over 3 miles most of the season

Agreed. And you can't really look at past tends anyway given the removal of the JLT. We'll see a lot more horses running over the middle distances and stepping up in distance.

Champ was the first winner to have never run over 3m over fences i believe, doubt that will remain

Lhomme Presse & Fact to File didn't go over 3 miles prior either.
Not sure about many before Champ (can't be arsed to look) but Cooldine never went over fences over 3 mile either.
So a Bollocks of a stat all round.

I was just making a joke about none being able to do it before the first...

I don't see Romeo Coolio going to the BANC personally. If he doesn't go to the Arkle, i don't think he goes to Cheltenham.

I can’t have him winning at Cheltenham wherever he goes, unless we see a cracking run at 3m before March.
