2026 Novice Chasers

….W Mullins;

Kitzbuhel was spectacular on the ground and the track in winning the Kauto Star. People kept asking me where he was going next straight afterwards but one thing is for sure, he’ll be the first one from our yard entered for the King George if Kempton is still alive and going next year.
He was very good and showed huge scope and Paul and himself got on like a house on fire. It was great to watch.

Kiss Will - He will come on a lot for his run in Fairyhouse where he was a shade unlucky maybe and we expect him to make significant improvement which will leave him a great position going into this race. I expect a big run.
Kitzbuhel missing Cheltenham do we think??

….W Mullins;

Final Demand - He’s been very good since he won at Navan on his chasing debut and hopefully himself and Patrick will get on well in what has been lucky race for Patrick over the years. I think he sets the standard going down here so a clear, safe round will be good. The ground and track suit, he has a lot of things on his side and with a clear round he’ll hopefully come out on top.

JDS - It was tough splitting this horse and Kitzbuhel when it came to their Christmas target and I thought I’d made the wrong decision in sending Kitzbuhel to Kempton, so was very pleased when he did the job so well.
There might not be much between Final Demand and Jimmy Du Seuil but a lot will depend on how this horse handles the deep ground down there.

Gold Dancer - He has the experience, but I think he needs to improve a bit to beat the other two of mine.

Sounds like he rates all 3 equally. If he was split in which one he was sending to Kempton then saying JDS and FD are tough to split then he must have all 3 of them very close to each other

I don't believe that at all. The way they talk about FD he is well clear of the rest. Will be very disappointing if he doesn't come out on top.

Guess it depends how much trust you put into trainer comments.
So far on the track we’ve seen performances that imo have Kitz ahead of the other two and his form getting franked, but tomorrow the other two get their chance to better him, and one of them is already a good thing for the BANC for many.

I think jimmy du seuils beating of impose toi and big westerner is better form than anything final demand has done so far.

Yes he's technically beat jasmin de vaux at the drf and yellow clay at punchestown, but it's a stretch considering that good form. Jasmin came forward a ton at cheltenham to win the bartlett, and yellow clay was beaten when falling at a time when a lot of elliotts looked to be running on fumes, having beaten final demand at cheltenham beforehand.

Impose toi has improved too, but beating him at cheltenham on a day when he was fully primed to run his best is solid form. And big westerner is decent at the very least, and jimmy beat her very easily. She finished way ahead of wingmen in the bartlett for example, who final demand thrashed on chasing debut. It's visual impression with final demand at the moment, but he has to go and prove it against a horse who's done more than him.

If PT was forced to make a decision tonight who he would ride in the BANC who would he pick ?

The performance of LUMP SUM (FR) which started favourite and finished last of five runners, was considered. Sam Thomas’ explanation that the gelding finished lame on its right-hind leg, which was confirmed by the Veterinary Surgeon during routine testing, was noted.

Good to know re Lulamba form lines. Thought it was too bad to be true.

Lulamba still Rules OK?

I don’t know.
He would probably have his preference with what he’s seen at home and the feel they give him when he’s riding.
So whichever that may be I suppose?

That smile PT let out whilst riding Final Demand says to me it will take something to go seriously wrong for him to get off

I would say wait until after today as currently Kitzbuhel is top of the pile after Boxing Day (not in the market but on what they've done over fences), but we will find out more today.

Whichever one wins today (I suspect Final Demand, given conditions) will end up back being number 1 for the yard!

…..keep an eye on the 1.20, Mullins won it with F2F a couple of years ago before he won BANC. Maybe Kiss Will this years 100-1 Lecky Watson :LOL:

….looks like it was Koktail Divin and not Kiss Will, impressive that, into a best 25-1 BANC.

Fair to say Jimmy Du Seuil did not enjoy jumping out of that ground. Barely got up on many of them.

Not giving up on him but had a thought this may suit FD and even Gold Dancer more.

Still not sure they Willie even bothered sending Willie to the race. They can probably get a price on him now I guess!

Yeah he looked sticky at his fences from early on and didnt seem to enjoy it at all

He did look a bit small compared to final demand and gold dancer

Final demand just looks like a rolls royce of a horse over fences and ghe heir to galopins throne

Its rare a horse as huge as him looks so athletic and nimble

Topped up on Jimmy for small money straight after the race at 36s on BFX

Can firmly write that run straight off, and I've no question in my mind he would have finished infront of Gold Dancer, which makes him value.
